AIW 8500DV -> AIW 9600 Pro?

Hey,

I've been searching the past few days for a clear comparison between these two cards. I've found 8500 vs. 9600 Pro, but I know the AIW 8500 DV is clocked quite a bit slower than the standard 8500. I'm looking to upgrade to the AIW 9600 because the new AIW features look pretty cool. I would also like to know how the 3D performance of the card rates. Does anyone have first hand experience regarding the differences between the AIW features and/or the game performance? Or even point me to a comparison that has eluded me?

The AIW 9600 Pro is clocked exactly the same as the normal 9600 Pro except the memory is 10 MHz faster. So for 3D performance, you can look at reviews of the 9600 Pro and keep in mind that there'll be a small boost for the AIW. The 9600 Pro would be a good step up from the 8500, let alone an AIW9600 Pro to an AIW 8500DV.

The memory is actually 25MHz faster, 325 vs. 300. The memory they use is actually rated at 350MHz, so you can definately overclock to 350Mhz (700 DDR).

Gotcha... I was at 50 (DDR affected).
