just out of curiosity what is costco's return policy
I've never seen anything other than a general "satisfaction guarantee" statement:
From the site "We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell by offering a full refund, subject to certain product specific limitations." In the stores they post a huge sign up, which I don't think is much more specific, at least in the ones I've been at.
But, I heard from someone that it's basically a life-time satisfaction guarantee, so I've asked workers at different stores. They've all confirmed it, like the guy I posted about who saw someone return something 6 years later. I believe it might vary slightly store to store, in that some will probably not accept something that looked like you dropped it. One employee told me a guy tried to return a bed that fell off his truck & got run over, but was denied. I've also been told the main exception to the rule is computer systems (not components), because too many people were buying a system & returning/upgrading 3 years later. However, YMMV, I'd ask your local Costco.
Personally, I've never had trouble returning anything for any reason even after a couple of years, but I haven't tried to abuse the return policy (too much )
