That seems just a legitimate as this article I found:

Dudes! You totally know that global warming is real. You know because I know. I know because I think it. It's one big circle, and this is how logic works. Ask any scientist. 103.14159% of them have proven, scientifically, that global warming is completely real. They even got a note from God verifying thier study! It's true! In 1985 Marty McFly went back to 1955 and kissed huis mom and altered history. But Micheal J Fox rarely acts anymore? Why? Conspiracy!

So in conclusion. Global Warming is real. It's been proven. And, all of this is a long way from over.

And, I am totally convinced there is scientific basis for all of it.

I think there is plenty of reason to question and doubt the causes of global climate changes, as well as the politics that may be behind them, but if you can read this "article" (ie: opinion piece) and use that as your basis for anything resembling a logical argument, they you may very well be legally retarded.

OP, I'd go get that checked out if I were you. You might get a cool hat out of it!

I was going to point you to the Wikipedia page, but apparently someone just made an edit to the section of interest.

Regs forgot the part about Gore getting a degree from Harvard on his "first try". The rest was grad school, which he never finished.

Views on global warming
Despite having no educational or scientific credentials in meteorology, climatology, environmental science, or indeed any other scientific field or discipline, in the fall of 2007 Coleman described the current concern over global warming "a fictional, manufactured crisis, and a total scam." [3] His postings assessing the science behind global warming can be read at www.kusi.com. In fact, Coleman is not even a board-certified meteorologist or weather reader, the requirements for which are but several semester hours of successfully completed college coursework in meteorology or associated disciplines such as geology. In 2008 Coleman gave a speech of the same tone, before the San Diego Chamber of Commerce, blaming the "global warming scam" and environmentalist lobby, for rising gas and food prices. He also declared the scam "a threat to our economy and our civilization." [4]

Coleman has also made appearances on Fox News Channel and on the Showtime program, Penn & Teller: Bullshit!, to share his global warming views.

Coleman recently published an article entitled "The Amazing Story Behind the Global Warming Scam"[5] in which he promotes his personal view that many scientists and politicians have been embroiled in what amounts to scam based on incomplete science and a political motive for a world government. Coleman claims that the 'scam' was triggered by the claims of scientist Roger Revelle whose primary motivation was seeking increased funding for the Scripps Institute of Oceanography.

Coleman's global warming views are closely aligned with those of the International Climate Science Coalition, an organization of over 197 climate science specialists or scientists in closely related fields, who in 2008 in Manhattan N.Y., issued a declaration known as the Manhattan Declaration stating that ?Global warming? is not a global crisis [6] .
Oh snap!

Uhh, just because he's a meteorologist doesn't automatically qualify him as an expert.

And sorry, Al Gore is merely a spokesperson. To somehow pretend that it's Al Gore claiming he's unearthed the research or otherwise discovered something is ridiculous.

Al Gore can summon a hell of a lot more scientific resources than a meteorologist, and that's without question. Who listens to Coleman?

Science isn't a popularity contest, despite what the media likes to tell us.

Sure it is. Calling it a "popularity contest" is a bit much, but history shows that consensus is what brings change. Dissension in the scientific community doesn't benefit anyone, and the relative difficulty of introducing new ideas that counter old ideas is demonstrative of this.

Rightful consensus is important, imo. Catering to a popular idea without scientific scrutiny isn't, but I don't think that's what's at play here.

The problem here, OP, is that some of us actually go to school not to just earn a business degree. Some of us, you see, actually study and actively research these energy matters. Engineering isn't just about building bridges you know. It is obvious that you can't perform an energy and mass balance on a global scale since otherwise you wouldn't post such a false statement. I suggest you acquire the skills first to analyze these matters. Of course you won't, it takes years after all. It is a much better option to just blindly believe what others say after all.

Apparently you have to be intelligent when reading something like "These two research papers became the bedrock of the science of global warming, even though they offered no proof that carbon dioxide was in fact a greenhouse gas. In addition they failed to explain how this trace gas, only a tiny fraction of the atmosphere, could have any significant impact on temperatures" to understand exactly what the author is trying to do. The author is trying to cast doubt on global warming. I read an interesting article today/yesterday that compared the people denying global warming with the tobacco industry and several other industries, and the tactics they used to spread doubt in the general public.

Read that quoted sentence again - it's trying to get you to doubt that carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas. It's attempting to dismiss one of the most crucial aspects of global warming. As if there's only been one study that ever suggested that carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas. And, it's trying to appeal to people's incredulity "tiny fraction of the atmosphere."

However, for the 20th time, I'm going to ask this question of those who deny global warming:
Why was the DSCVR satellite not launched?

Let me recap the entire anti-global warming argument: "Their data was flawed! Scientific consensus is meaningless! There is no consensus! What? You have a satellite that will answer this question once and for all? NO! You can't launch it. Lalalalalalalala I'm not listening to you."

I'm sorry, please go on about Coleman's credentials and why anyone should give a shit about his "scientific opinions."

As the OP clearly demonstrates, reasoning, rationality and fact-based reality aren't everyone's cup of tea. Some people's thinking is so overwhelmed by emotions, that they cannot make the simple connections or follow the paths required to reach the obvious conclusion that yes:
- climate change is real
- caused by man
- something should be done
