Is that any different than the feminists who support(ed) Bill Clinton even though he's been accused of sexual assault by several women and even rape? Feminists that support Hillary despite how she treated her husbands accusers?
People find ways to justify their position and who they support no matter if it makes sense or not.
Well, support for Bill Clinton has fallen and isn't really justifiable. And let's face it, Hillary as flawed as she has been is still a much, much, much better champion of women's rights than Trump... or Johnson, or McMullin, and possibly Stein.
Chill on the hyperbole. I don't know any conservative who wants to treat LGBT people as subhuman. Being against abortion does not equal forcing women to raise children they never intended to have. That kind of hyperbole makes having honest discussions difficult. No need to vilify or ridicule the other position when you disagree with it.
Few of them will actually
say they want to treat LGBT people that way, but that's how they act. When you deny a transgender person use of a bathroom that reflects their gender identity, you're effectively telling them that they can't use public bathrooms like everyone else. When you say same-sex marriage shouldn't be legal, you believe that LGBT people aren't allowed to express love the same way you do. When you treat homosexuality as nothing but a choice, or gender dysphoria as something that has to be suppressed, you inherently paint LGBT people as inferior and broken, rather than just different. So yes, anti-LGBT conservatives are treating these people as less than equal -- they just couch it in euphemistic terms, such as protecting women from (virtually non-existent) bathroom attacks or "preserving traditional marriage."
And if you're against abortion, you're forcing women to raise children they didn't intend to have. Full stop. If a woman gets pregnant simply because a condom broke, preventing her from having an abortion means she's going to have a kid she didn't plan for. If she gets pregnant through rape, you're insisting that she carry the consequences of that rape to term. This is not hyperbole; this is basic logic.
The term "subhuman" might be overly harsh, but at the same time, I'm tired of people masking their hatreds with soft language, or acting as if anti-abortion views don't have obvious consequences (even if you're content with those consequences). They're trying to have their cake and eat it too -- they want to impose their irrational, hate-filled views on everyone, but they're hoping you won't call them out on it.
