Funny how for them the two problems are 1) West Coast, 2) East Coast

It's almost as if a national divorce would actually resolve things!
Looking at how humans treat each other, I dare say no one would be safe if these folks got hold of military force.
Like Russia and so many others before them.
They will invent monsters out of their neighbors. And will not seek a peaceful solution.

A clean break is like saying Communism can work, if we could just remove the human element from it.

The Republican propensity to latch on to ideas that are catastrophically unpopular really is totally unmatched.

The rule is: if Democrats don't like it, they will publicly embrace it because nothing is more important to the base as liberal tears. They would all flay themselves alive if you could convince them that AOC would be upset about it.

So you want to also create some sort of huge humanitarian crisis too? Let's have national divorce with a side of forced migration ethnic cleansing. You're really dishing out the monstrous ideas lately.

Well it's already happening without any help from me thank you very much!

Ruling by one of the justices should send shivers down everyone's spine.

"God made every person in His image; (2) each person therefore has a value that far exceeds the ability of human beings to calculate; and (3) human life cannot be wrongfully destroyed without incurring the wrath of a holy God, who views the destruction of His image as an affront to Himself. Section 36.06 recognizes that this is true of unborn human life no less than it is of all other human life -- that even before birth, all human beings bear the image of God, and their lives cannot be destroyed without effacing his glory,”

Then let "God" deal with it.

Voluntary movement != "Population exchange".

Blue states could also improve some of their House representation by killing off their rampant NIMBYism that makes it expensive to afford housing in the states that are good to live in.

See now you're getting my ideas and agreeing with them.

Maybe I shoulda added the details in the first post but I'm definitely not pro-civil war. I'm pro-dems winning and if needed being flexible and pro-dumping issues that're costing us votes!

Like I've said many times before.. I hate dems fight over peas and carrots. I'd like them to fight over steak! But instead Republicans are much smarter and play the long game and just mindlessly pull the lever for their candidates!

Oh the irony and hypocrisy of it all where Alabama is a state that executes their Godless heathen sinners. Well I'm sure they can find some scripture that they can interpret to their liking by walking on water around that, never mind that it will contradict some other passage they've also conveniently interpreted to fit a particular need at a particular point in time.

It seems their holy march to heaven has been politicized enough to where they're marching to Hell in God's name and don't even know it or care.

So who's stupid lofty idea was it that the separation of church and state could actually happen when politics and religion working hand in hand are a tool that despots the world over have exploited time and again. Republicans are definitely repeating history in this regard.

Lol Rs can't pass a budget in the house or even possibly a CR and the government is likely to shut down for no real reason. Each side thinks the other is a diabolical genius but it's not true.

It seems shutting down the gov't is something Trump is feverishly hoping to happen. He thinks he can scam his way into having enough of the nation's uninformed dupes believing that the chaos he is creating through his servile lackeys in the Freedom Caucus can be blamed on Biden.

I haven't seen him weigh in one way or the other yet. The voters that are paying attention at this point have watched the Rs scuttle the border deal and now potentially sleepwalk into a shutdown they don't know how to get out of. This is not likely to burnish their image with those voters.

That's why they are going to get cracking on this Biden bribery scandal to impeach him, they've got the best witness...............ooops!

You just proved my point.

You're focusing on peas and carrots (some damn budget) where as they're laughing at you with their steak (6-3 scotus).

Dems fatal flaw is short sightedness by their fickle electorate. The Republicans waited 50 years to dismantle roe and we got fucked thinking Hildabeast wasn't good enough!

Considering how the Alabama Supreme Court based their decision on the state constitution, I'm not sure how their legislature passing a law would fix the issue. Wouldn't the court just throw out that law?

I don't know, but good to see there is an attempt to address it.

From the article: "The bill states that any fertilized human egg or human embryo outside of a human uterus “under any circumstances” would not be considered “an unborn child, a minor child, a natural person, or any other term that connotes a human being for any purpose under state law.”"

Can the court just say "yes it is", and nullify it?

If they think the Alabama constitution's definition of life includes IVF embryos, then yes, they could declare such a law unconstitutional.

Any day now someone in the bible belt is going to, in the style of turning back the clock on the progress our American culture has made in the last 100+ years, declare that The Age of Prohibition needs to be reinstituted because alcohol is the Devil's brew and the cause of good men to turn their backs on the Lord's teachings. Or is it too late for that, unlike the other personal rights that the Republicans have taken away from us "for our own damn good" and are in the progress of taking away, like our right to freely elect our representatives to gov't.
