Many people eventually endorsed Roy Moore, including the President of the United States. I'd call that a lot of support by the final two weeks.

It took a perfect storm of events to facilitate a victory for a Democrat and a slightly less flawed Republican candidate would have won by double digits.

Every advantage except that the state has an inherent Republican advantage of about THIRTY POINTS, lol.

That means in a normal, even state Jones wins in a blowout against a standard Republican, much less Moore. The only reason it was close was it was in Ala-fucking-bama.

On one hand it's ultimately up to women to speak up, however, they also struggle with other women believing them even though the experience of harassment is commonly shared.

If women were more tribal, it's possible to have more influence and ability to effect change.

The election results showed a strong racial component, but gender affiliation was weak compared to the seriousness of the allegations.

Not an option. Those are his voters that put up Moore and he needs them. His failure to publicly support their candidate damages him. May blow your mind, but Trump is astute enough to understand at least the basics. Political necessity forces him to support people he doesn't really like or believe in just to keep ties with that voter base. He has to support the Republican candidate no matter what. That's how politics work.
