Guess who I never want to hear from when it comes to sexual misconduct, white women.

They voted for Moore by 63%

The ones that accused Moore more were all white. If we didn’t hear from them that asshat would have been voted in.

Pundits are stupid then. Trump had 48% approval in the exit polls for who voted here and if the voters of Alabama wanted a Republican they would have voted for a Republican. He got outsized turnout from Democratic constituencies, ones he would immediately alienate by doing this.

His best bet is to become some sort of Joe Manchin figure where he builds his own personal brand while remaining a moderate Democrat on most issues.

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/congress-trump-score/joe-manchin-iii/

As you can see here Joe Manchin votes FAR less often with Trump than would be expected by his state's lean and yet he's fairly popular there and will probably win re-election. EDIT: And on the big issues that people really care about he has been a uniformly anti-Trump vote.

Manchin votes Republican when it comes to Guns and Babies. The two biggest single vote issues that make or break conservative leaning voters. It also doesn't hurt that he comes across as one of the most down to earth, likable personalities in the Senate.

A small part of me wonders just how much different things would be if abortion was actually illegal and a non-discussion and democrats could win back those votes. Take the energy and put it towards education, birth control, health care and just generally reduce the needs for abortions in the first place.

Well considering moore's stance on minorities, it'd be slightly less believable had he been accused by a black woman, a muslim woman, a latina. Just sayin'

If the $6.2 million differential is the cost of preventing a pedophile from taking a seat in the US Senate, that was a bargain.

Hey Doc! What's in your wallet?

Edit: ^^^ Link removed due to complaints. Fyi, it was a link to a google search for young girls pedophilia, not pictures of any, but people complained that it would then be in their google search history. Sorry.

Read an article about Alabama, and some strategist there claimed abortion was just one excuse to stick to the GOP for voters there. If it wasn't that it would be something else. Guns, gay marriage, bathrooms, regulation, farming, wars, immigrants, taxes, "religious liberty". There's lots of red meat to choose from..

looks like GOP spend and repubs raised as much money for Strange as they did for Moore, and overall all dems and repubs through the primary, it looks close to even? Wow, the same amount spent on Strange up to the primary, only, was spent on Moore through the entire election. Guess that cash infusion the GOP finally sent his way last week was a biggie!

Do horses count as campaign costs? Wonder how long ago he acquired "Sassy".

was wondering that as well. It also looks like he has half the cash left over that Strange does/did. That is nuts, considering he must have gone on a spending spree this week, despite apparently tuning out over the weekend and going to some...what was it, monster truck rally or something? I forgot.

I guess he bought some industrial-sized vats of Horse Balm.

That represents to me how Moore, Trump and all the rest of those guys that got scooped up in this net of "new awareness" are victims of the changing times we live in and they are good changes IMO.

That these guys were/are involved in a situation where what was "acceptable" back then sure ain't acceptable now and that the present circumstances/changes in attitudes are being applied to their past behavior in order to seek recompense is quite interesting to say the least.

I'm thinking there's quite a few more prominently arrogant fellas with clamped sphincters waiting for the complaints to come pouring down on their asses.

The problem is that it's not like that in reality. Both candidates are equally as bad at spending, it's just where it's spent.

Yeah, it's not like that in reality, but since when do elections have anything to do with reality? Both parties are really out for themselves, their own power, their own agenda, their own compulsive need to tell other people how to live. But that doesn't get you elected. So the Republicans tell their followers that they're going to have jobs and get to keep their earnings and stop giving so much of it away to the deadbeats and the immigrants and the Democrats tell their followers that they're not deadbeats, that the man is keeping them down and the government will fix that and be Santa Claus for them because they don't need jobs, they need checks. THAT gets you elected. Whoever gets 50.1% of the people to believe it wins.

If a place like Alabama going to Democrats does not wake up the Trump fanatics to the fact they are being radicalized, nothing will. Oh wait, that should have happened with the rapist POTUS, pedophile senator and finding out they were Russian psyops victims in the election..

You do understand that it took a guy accused of heinous crimes against multiple young women, being a racist, a homophobe and just about every other negative social label, plus hate from the GOP in order to barely lose to a Democrat funded with nearly triple the campaign money? That should be a wake up call to the Dems.

To be fair though, the racism/homophobia/sexism probably helped him with rural votes.

yup, and the president backed the pedophile saying it was better to have that in the senate than a democrat.
The president said that. Fucking sickening, And considering the history of Alabama, and how it's usually politically aligned. I am still surprised moore lost.So maybe it's a wake up call for your party to stop supporting shitbag, racist, sexual predators from the highest office in the land.

It was double and if you count the money spent by both Luther Strange and Moore it was about the same. It isn't a wakeup call to dems because this isn't even normally close to a blue state. It shouldn't have even been a close race. When a party loses what is considered to be a safe seat, that isn't a wake up call to the other party...

Wait, have you convinced yourself that Republicans losing in ALABAMA is somehow a sign of danger for Democrats?

Jesus.

Speaking of waking up, that was one brutal KO for your prince Trump.

Pretty sure BB would look at an utter defeat for the Republicans in 2018 as a victory for Trump. Anything to keep that illusion going.

You seem to fail in understanding that the Dems had every advantage against a guy that couldn't have had less support from his own party and was publicly accused of some of the most heinous crimes and acts against society. It took a perfect storm of events to facilitate a victory for a Democrat and a slightly less flawed Republican candidate would have won by double digits.
