Albatron PX845PEV and Speedfan

seems about right...

funny thing when I turned back on the temp2 reading it is staying around 23c...no more 69-70c as others had been seeing as well....

I started to wonder if the 70c reading may be the power supply...Those things get pretty hot dont they???

SiSoft Sandra 2003 is showing some wierd temps for me also. For example, CPU shows 35C, but ambient temp is 50C with the side panels off?!?! BIOS shows CPU at 35-40C and case around 35C...

So is it safe to say that only the BIOS has correct temp readings?

also, no one got back about the BIOS question. What IS the best BIOS to use for the 845PEV Pro? Again, Albatron's site doesn't show BIOS 1.09 as an available BIOS for this specific board. It does for the GEV, but not PEV...

Ok my albatron with a p4 2.4 temperature readings
I set sensor 1 as winbond 1 and sensor 2 as winbond 3
From reading the previous post I think thats the cpu/system temperature
My readings are cpu 33C and system 28C...are those realible ???
I have a slk-900 and a thermuluke fan with temperature control
antex 1080 amg with 2 fan blowing out in the back and one on the side blowing in one in the front blowing at the hard drives

I'm planning on getting a fan for the northbridge too since I will be ocing..can't overclock until my ram comes home.
Any other suggestion to get the correct temperature readings ??
Use mbm or speedfan ??? or bios reading

Not quite. To get a CPU internal diode temp reading in Speedfan, set Temp Sensor Diode 2 to PII Diode. You have to do this in the advanced tab. The reading will be ~ 15C low though. Unfortunately, Speedfan has no compensation setting. In MBM 5, set Sensor 3 to Winbond 2 Diode and add +15C compensation. You will notice how much quicker the temps respond to load changes compared to what you were using. This is the actual sensor.

I have the 845PEV pro. I flashed to 1.09 and it works fine. Using MBM 5.30 at this time.
Running SL6RZ 2.4b at 3240 (180*18) default vcore 1.525. Alpha 8942 w/ YS tech 80mm fan.

Temps Idle Max

Sensor 1 35c 42c
Sensor 2 34c 44c
Diode 2 18c 30c

Runs great with no lockups. Ran Prime95 for 27 hours last week. Very stable and great board...

Add +15C Compensation to your Diode 2 sensor, and you will have your true CPU temp.
