During last night?s loss to the Mets, Cardinals 1B Albert Pujols was 0?for-3 with a strike out. Meanwhile, Mets LHP Tom Glavine allowed zero runs over seven innings pitched?

In Newsday, Bob Herzog describes how the hitless Pujols addressed the media following the game by writing?

?[Pujols] flipped his chair into the leg of a reporter gathered at his locker, turned his back, dressed slowly and then faced the media with obvious reluctance.??

Pujols on Glavine, talking with reporters after the game?

?He wasn't good. He wasn't good at all.

?I think we hit the ball hard, we didn't get some breaks?

?I say he wasn't good at all. We just didn't get some opportunities and that's it?

?He did same thing that he always does. Throw a changeup, fastball and that was it. I just think we should've done a better job than we did.??

He was obviously frustrated by his performance and the team's loss. Cut the guy some slack, he's the best hitter in baseball.

Don't worry, he's the best hitter in baseball but he'll still get pwned by the Tigers in the world series.

What he said makes him a crybaby? Nah. He was caught at a frustrating time and gave his honest opinion. Even superstars are human.

was very very unsportsmanlike.

but if glavine was really that mediocre than it means the cardinals were that much worse.

he didn't get a single hit off a mediocre pitcher, makes him a mediocre hitter at best.

He has been playing baseball professionally long enough to know better than to say something like that. To say that Glavine wasn't "good" last night is ridiculous.

Glavine did get his pitches hit hard but the D was there. As a Met fan, I felt very fortunate after last night.

So three at-bats determines how good a hitter is?

Pretty much the case. Pujols IS one of the best hitters in all of baseball.

And he was frustrated and disappointed after a tough loss to the Mutts, one of the best teams money can buy. How, at 26, might you react as a crowd of hungry hyena/reporters closed in on you while you were dressing after an emotional loss?

He's a truly great hitter, a good teammate (just read a little more in depth about him), and one intense competitor whose focus and dedication to the game is world class.

I'd take Albert Pujols on my team in, well, an New York minute.

He's not the best hitter in the MLB, Glavine just happens to be the 1st guy smart enough to pitch around him and not give into the strike zone like all the other pitchers.

Go Mets!

Yeah, he made a boneheaded play getting picked off between 1st and 2nd. I'd be pisse too if I did something that dumb.

ya, and i really meant it when i posted that glavine was a mediocre pitcher too.

how about quoting someone in CONTEXT.

for the record, Tom Glavine is the best JUNK ball pitcher of his generation. mb second if you consider Maddux a junk ball pitcher.
