Alcohol Strike

I drink around the holidays, try to keep it to one or two beers per holiday. Maybe twice a month I'll have a martini or some Scotch on a Friday evening with friends, that's the extent of it. Will have a glass of wine with dinner if it's offered.

I have alcoholic tendencies down both lines of my ancestry so I'm very wary of making alcohol consumption a regular part of my life. I like having a nice Scotch collection and liquor on hand if we have guests but I don't partake of it often myself.

Plus, as many have said, it's hell for losing weight, if I drank hard liquor on a weekly basis I'm sure I'd put on 5-10 lbs quite easily.

When I quit smoking, I also quit drinking for several years until I was sure I wouldn't backslide. It worked.
Now I drink light beer on average one night a week.

Probably about 8 months in this stretch. Since college the most I've had is a glass of wine once in awhile. Oh and those chocolates from Costco with the drink in the middle.

It's okay, I probably drank enough over the last 10 days to balance out the rest of you.

Mind you, I hardly ever drink back here in Phoenix - maybe a beer or mixed drink with dinner, that's about it.

Had 4 or 5 beers with pizza on Friday while playing the new Call of Duty on PS3 4 player split screen at a friends, oops. Also find myself contemplating what type(s) of alcohol I should procure for our new years week festivities (we rented an onslope condo at a ski resort with hot tub etc). This is a bad sign.

i drink 3 nights a week, but very moderatly(2 days i will have 1 glass of wine or 1 beer, on friday i will have 2 beers or glasses of wine). im not a big drinker, but i like to have a drink to get a slight mellow buzz to help me chill out. not really into getting drunk though since i always feel like hell after.

I know an alcoholic. She won't touch it. I guess people like that just have to swear it off because once they start, they can't quit. I've always been take it or leave it with alcohol. I've never craved it in my life. I can pour a glass of wine with dinner (4-6 oz) and in the morning sometimes the glass is half full. I sometimes don't touch alcohol for weeks/months at a time. Lately I have that small glass of red wine with dinner because they say it's good for me. Sometimes I like the buzz it gives me, but I never pour more, never! My last girlfriend always had 2 glasses with dinner to my one, and she was smaller than me so she probably had 3 times the BAL. I've wondered if I should try that just to see how I like it, but I figure I won't like it, so I haven't. Occasionally I drink more if I'm in company (and not driving). I never get drunk, much less sick drunk or hung over.

Since college (about 3.5 years) I've decreased drinking and I feel it's nice to get buzzed off of 2-3 drinks again. However, I don't think I've gone without alcohol for more than a couple of weeks at a time; it's not because I crave it, it's just because I normally have a drink or two when I go out to dinner on weekends or the like.

Since not having any in sept I find I'm thinking about it less and less. Where I used to have a relaxed evening and debate whether I should grab some beer or not, now it simply doesn't enter my mind at all. I do think one of life's great pleasures is drinking beer while playing video games (those who've done it know what I'm talking about), but I can live without. It's almost fun not having any.

Drinking beer while playing video games was one of the things that kept me from quitting. I had done so much drinking while playing that I was worried that the two were unalterably associated in my mind, and I wouldn't be able to sit down to a video game without feeling the absence of a drink in my hand after I quit. That actually was true for a while, but thankfully it went away over time.

Wait people keep track of when they drink? I don't drink a lot last time I drank was an ounce of wine someone wanted me to try and the time before that was 3 drinks at a concert... I don't remember the time before that probably a drink to help me sleep at some point... I have no idea the time spans involved, but it was weeks if not months. I never even had anything more than a 1/4 of a cup full of beer till I was 22 (drinking just never appealed to me too much).

I know. My brother was on the phone this weekend and had just cracked open a new game. I asked him if he was going to start the beer soon and he had already cracked one. I could picture it.

A lot of people, as they get older, simply drink more and more so it becomes much easier to remember.

I drink pretty much everyday. Small amounts, a glass of wine, one beer, but usually one a day.

I took a month off in a dual bet with a friend if he quit smoking.

Only problems were when I went out with friends, and that was just because..you are at a bar..thats what you do there.
