You are lieing if you say your parents didn't flip out on you at least once or twice (more likely a couple dozen) times when you were this age all the way until you were way out of high school. I do. It's quite evident that his anger is rooted in frustration. Are you even aware of the entire situation surrounding this story, or you are just a typical knee-jerk reactionist? So you know, Mr Baldwin and Kim Bassinger have been battling it out for 7+ years over custodial rights. Currently she has them and he has visitation rights. It's clearly obvious from the message that this is not the first time that his daughter has snubbed a pre-determined phonecall. He's trying to uphold the side of things he promised to do and constantly getting 'put down' when his calls go unanswered.

Maybe you're the perfect parent, but not everyone is blessed with an even temper and the highest levels of self-control that you profess to own. Not everyone is the best of parents. It sounds to me that Alec is trying, but his daughter could very well be a stuck up little brat bolstered by her mother's bias towards her father.

About the voicemail itself, it shouldn't have ever left outside the his immediate family. We don't know any of the history or other tidbits that could have led up to this. Far as we know Alec could have told her if you don't start answering the phone when I call they we will be trying a new approach to getting you to do so etc...

As for the topic about abuse, the fact people are crying in here thinking it is shows exactly why kids nowadays are so disrespectful and they are doing dumber and dumber ****** at younger and younger ages now. Parents need to discipline their children, not go overboard in it but it needs to be done. All this lets be nice crap obviously isn't working otherwise the younger generations would be about the same or a bit better then their parents, instead they are much worse.

All these laws for anything that even hurts the kids feelings now is ridiculous. They need to learn that there are consequences for your actions that scale with what you did.

As easy as it would be to blame the parents, it really isn't all their fault. The law has given the kids the power now and the parents either have to side by and suck it up, have their kid taken away, or get arrested.
