Https://www.mbnanetaccess.com *IS* their website, and I've been using it forever.

I really can't believe it resolved to someone else's domain somewhere. The only thing that would make sense is if some bad guy had access to the "/NASApp/NetAccess/LoginDisplay/newreg_valsec22761&rter5089" path, which could then perform a re-direct, but that is hard to believe.

Perhaps the bad grammar was just someone sending out version 1 of the email, instead of the more polished version 2.

I think the Email is HTML so that it *looks like* mbnanetaccess.com but the *link* is actually to the dodgey IP address

mbnanetaccess.com is MBNA's domain name, the IP address 207.234.139.154 is not.

The sensible way to stop getting fooled by this sort of thing is setup an Email address that only MBNA knows (e.g. mbna@mydomain.com)
so if you ever get any MBNA Email *not* to that address, then it's not from MBNA. That's what I do for every company I deal with.

Also, they would have done some Javsscript to hide the URL and make it look the same in the status bar when you hover your mouse over it. Only way to know it is the right URL is by being careful and looking at the e-mail's source and seeing what it goes to. And for those who say 'look what the URL is after you click it', what about those sites with Java to make it so that you can't see the address bar [at all] inthe current browser? They could redirect you to MBNANetAccess.com and have a popup without a URL bar. It is possible, but I agree the bad grammar from a 1 billion dollar company should tip you off.
