The important thing to consider here IMO is that Jones wouldn't have a media empire to lose if not for his defamation of the Sandy Hook families and others like them. Jones made a fortune by knowingly telling malicious lies, and our society is poorer because of him. Free speech is no defense to such actions nor was it ever intended to be so. These are ill-gotten gains.

I dunno man, this sounds like a communism to me.

This would be a good time to get Elon Musk to chip in with his absolute free speech take on things, will he restore Alex on Twitter etc. Comon media people. Do your jobs.

I don't know what he's basing his claims on for supposed reasoning, but I hope the judge laughs him out of court. I expected appeals of course, but this seems like trying to skip the usual process.

Neither is "crazy" in the sense that is usually meant by that word. Neither of them even believes the batshit things they say. They are both liars, and pathological narcissists. Narcissists belong in prison, not a psyche ward.
I'm pretty certain that Jones is proper crazy. He has no idea how cause and effect works, he quite clearly doesn't understand how the real world works, he's in his fantasy land where reality is what he says it is.
It certainly doesn't excuse his continued behavior but the guy is fucking mental!

I chat with a couple of fellows that have whatever it is that makes a person not able to understand simple declarative statements. It's extremely difficult to have a conversation because their grasp of the information slides around the edges of it.

Its difficult to tell if people are aware of what they are doing when that happens. or if they are aware and are doing it on purpose because they know that they cant support their views!

He's having a hell of a week.

Hosts a guest even crazier and notorious than him, and fruitlessly tries to prevent their declaration of admiration for Hitler and Nazis on his platform.

Declares bk after being a BILLION+ in the hole for legal judgements against him.

Infowars truly will be missed lololol

Attorney Mattei also tweeted Friday in part: "The jury found Alex Jones liable for intentional attacks on the Sandy Hook families, so he can't discharge his debt to them in bankruptcy court."

unfortunately, thats his opinion.
waiting to see how the courts rule.

also, Didn't Jones also move his money into shell accts and trusts?

He is in fact trying to do this, but he will likely ultimately fail because the courts are wise to these sorts of shenanigans.

HOW in the hell can he be worth 1.5 dollars let alone 1.5 billion dollars?
Who is paying him... and for WHAT?
Is this all it takes to make 1.5 billion, a mic with internet connection AND a big mouth?
Damn... I can do THAT.

Who said he was worth 1.5 billion? He faces debts of 1.5 billion that exceed his assets but the bulk of those debts are tied to a single judgement.

Connecticut in particular is EXTREMELY unfriendly to the discharge of ANY financial liability incurred by a criminal act. He's not weaseling out of this as if it was some bad credit-card debt.

This judgement will follow Jones for the rest of his (hopefully!) short and miserable life.

He's still was worth way more than believable and his contribution to society reflected.

Being a rw talk show/podcaster/utube channel/influencer nutjob has long been a lucrative profession. That's why there are so godamn many of them.

Real question is how is the market so large for this on the right? Just a waste of mental space and money

I mean his advertisers are basically scammers too....

Income matters less than his audience being gullible fools who will buy shit he pitches regardless of how much it costs. A huge chunk of his revenue comes from pitching his own snake oil.
