I don't know much about Navalny but for some people, the cause is greater than their own life. RIP.

Is anybody surprised? I was amazed he was alive this long. What passes for civil rights in Russia is only bureaucracy, which has its workarounds. The Russians are saying he likely had a blood clot. That's shorthand for snuffed. There will be an autopsy because that's SOP for death in prison. But what are the chances that the coroner isn't crooked? None.

This is wake up call to Russian opposition. You can't displace a totalitarian regime with peaceful protests and media strategies. All you are doing is exposing yourself to state brutality for no reason. It will take clandestine armed resistance and sabotage within Russia. Or go join the Freedom of Russia legion and fight more openly from the Ukrainian side. Or just leave Russia, deny it your skills and taxes and support opposition financially from outside. But going to prison for 7 years over some pointless protest is the dumbest approach.

Not really surprised. This was a crucifixion. The subject is not supposed to die right away, it's supposed to hang there as a warning sign before ultimately passing away. I dont believe for a second that the timing is accidental either.

Putin is a thug. A thug with nukes.

"Died" is the wrong phrase here. "Most likely murdered on Putin's behalf" is more accurate.
