Edit: (May 6th)
Today is my last day in this closet. Next Sunday I will be moving into a two bedroom apartment off campus. w00t!

I live in a ex-janitor's closet!


Yup so here are pictures of my room, it used to be a janitor's closet up until last summer

Now im looking for cheap/easy ways to make this bland room into something SPICIER!

You could try covering up the walls. Tape on some wallpaper or cover them with fabric.

Paint, lots of them. Mirrors strategically placed. Darken it, it'll appear larger.

Do you live near an Ikea? They have a lot of similar sized "room" setup, go get some ideas.

next year they are making on campus housing freshmen only

Can't paint. It is normally darker with just those 3 lamps on
Nearest Ikea is close to home, that said I honestly dont have room for more furniture

Well, they do have a lot of neatly arranged "rooms", they can give you some ideas. You don't have to buy more furniture, just look around to see what you can pick up.

If you can't paint, get some wallpapers like others suggested. Better yet, go to a vintage store and score some posters, hip it up a bit at least. Cover all the walls with posters of the same theme, something you like? You seem to be a photographer? Print out some of your pictures and plaster them on the wall.

Just throwing that out there man, good luck.

Oh dang. Yeah quite a few of schools I looked at required on campus living for freshman. This one school even required it for anyone under 21 which is stupid as hell. Some friends who went just registered as "commuter" so they could live off campus. Luckily the school I went to didn't require on campus housing for transfer students. I didn't want to live in the dorms for one semester, much less two years.

I read the school I went to worked a deal with a motel for 60 or so freshmen they didn't have room for last year. Too bad you didn't get something nicer like that.

Sounds like a good idea, im going to the USMC recruiting station tomorrow pick up some posters

the thing is with my picture is that my girlfriend has them everywhere at her place plus printing decent size pictures cost a lot

I'd post pics of my residence room I'm in now, which is awesome, but I don't have a camera. I'm in the upper year townhouses and it's way better than my double room in first year.

also our school put 200 freshmen off campus!

living room
one bed room
and bathroom
=$2900 per semester
