An alien life-form will most likely be an insectoid with similar characteristics of Earth's bugs/insects.

I've met aliens before. They managed to travel thousands of miles within the US without being detected. Their names were Jose and Manuel and worked in landscaping.

i would make the following presumptions:

1) life arises and thrives under a certain set of circumstances, similar to the circumstances on earth.

2) similar traits would be advantageous in both locations, ie limbs to provide motion, etc.

3) intelligence only arises in social animals, and advanced intelligence is only useful for social creatures that have the physical capacity to manipulate their environments, ie humans with opposable thumbs.

with all these assumptions, we can assume its possible or even probable that aliens would be roughly similar in structure, but perhaps very different in the specifics of their form.

Life could arise in extreme conditions. The problem is that we assume all life should be similar to our life (carbon-based, water, DNA).

I could imagine intelligent aliens living in a liquid ocean. Or even intelligent aliens with an undefined body shape (like an amoeba)

I'm no scientist (well, kind of). That's what I think.

in extreme environments, i don't think intelligent life would evolve because it would be a waste of resources in a limited resource situation.

When I say "extreme environment", I mean extreme for us. It might not be extreme for them.

Because it would F up the economy. All that technology would become readily available If we were to borrow "alien tech", we wouldn't have to work anymore. While that day will come with technology, we have to evolve to that day.

I cant say how I have come across what I know, other than to say that I have seen classified KGB footage to prove that this is true.

Panic + riot = bad

Even if aliens do exist, who the fuck would want people to start questioning the government and other ancient institutions like religion? Do this en masse and you'd have a real problem on your hand.

3 is proven wrong by the octopus.

its very intelligent, has no social order at all and is able to manipulate its environment. the big draw back is its inability to pass on learned knowledge to its offspring.

Pfft... Do this in mass and we'd be one step closer to peace as a civilization. Don't be so presumptions to think that those two things are important for a civilization to work properly, if anything, they're holding us back.

So they won't have legs or arms or prehensile 'thumbs".
What if they drop their Visa?

There are millions of variations of body designs, depending on the environment in which the being evolves. Why should aliens look like us? It is not impossible, but very unlikely. People tend to anthropomorphize everything around them.

If I keep replying, will you keep backtracking?

I'm sorry Oldsmoboat, but why type that? He agrees with you.
This guy isn't saying aliens exist or anything; he's just saying it's fake because of the random possibility the alien could look like anything. Slim chance of being humanoid.

That's because they don't want to talk with silly 'umans.

Unless you've lived in a place that had no government and no religious system, you can't make such a claim. Religion and government are incredibly important for stability. Every civilization known to man has had both.

Aliens existence is a mathematical certainty. Them showing up here is as equally improbable as their existence is probable. The rest of your list is fine.

Say what you want about aliens, all I can tell you is this article was written by an imbecile.

Dr Mitchell, along with with Apollo 14 commander Alan Shepard, holds the record for the longest ever moon walk, at nine hours and 17 minutes following their 1971 mission.

They took the longest ever moon walk following their mission? Was their mission simply to break orbit, and the rest was just them fucking around in space? "Hey, now that our mission is over, let's go walk on the moon!"

I don't see why everyone thinks that people will commit suicide and go into a mass panic. So aliens exist and have for millions of years, so what? They are visiting earth? So what? They have better flying saucers than we do? So what?
We will still have to pay taxes, crap and eat to survive. If they wanted us gone from this universe, we would be gone already.
Now politicians, now that's something to be scared about.
