Back from the dead as of 10/23:
Seagate of course has 5 year warranty on internal drives, but lately many people have found out that though the serial numbers on the drive match those on the UPC, the part and model numbers do not, and the numbers on the drive itself causes Seagate's site to report it as not covered under a Seagate warranty. YMMV, but best bet is to keep the invoice and UPC.
