My combo just arrived today! At this point I'm still waiting on my 1GB PC3200 RAM... at the moment, I do have a stick of 512MB PC2100 RAM; could I just install that in the combo temporarily until Thursday so that I can start reinstalling Windows in the mean time? Any risk?

No risk but the problem might be booting it up for the first time.
The Bios setting is on AUTO so it might try to boot up at 200mhz.
Your rams are rated at 133mhz(ddr266).
But uf you can boot up, set the rams speed at 133 and it should run fine(if you don't try to OC)

I believe you have the Venice core, E6 revision, which is supposed to be good. I think the first line tells you what it is and the second line is more about the actual manufacturing, for example, your cpu was manufactured in 2006 week 10.

I just received my 2 sets today and it says:
ADA3000AIK4BX
CBBWE 0611FAE (2006, week 11)

The thing I noticed was that these are assembled in China?! I thought almost all of these were assembled in Malaysia? Anyone else with the China chips?

Haven't tried it, but, it let me backup the old bios so I'd assume I can flash back and then to the latest ECS. That said, I don't get the impression either ECS or Biostar will be releasing any new bios for these boards.

I am thinking to run the machine with a mem of 166 and a FSB 250. I am using Corsair Value Select 3200 (2 x 512). At HT of 3 this should run nicely, am I correct?

Was able to run at 4t at 245MHz CPU FSB Clock (980). Had a hang once at 250MHz. I dropped to 3t for stability based on reviews it doesn't amount to much performance difference.

Yes, exact same with me.
I can get it to 245 with HT at 4x, 250 with 3x.

And yes, run your PC3200 at 166, which means 166x250= 415 which is right at its suppose speed anyway.

I went into Bios but the option 1T/2T Memory Timing is not available. Does anybody knows why or does it even makes much difference. Right now it is using 2T.

Has anyone tried using MBM w/ it? The first 2 sensors give me a temperature of 78 and 127 degrees C respectively, while the 3rd sensor is at 32, corresponding to the cpu temp. when I checked the bios. Any idea what the first 2 sensors read?

I ended up using speedfan, where the third sensor is the cpu temp.

How did you install MBM? What motherboard setting did you use from the drop down list. The ECS list did not have this motherboard listed.

I'm not sure, I just kinda went along w/ the default settings. I don't recall having to have to make a choice from a drop down list. It seems to be working ok though, aside from those 2 wonky temperatures.
