I bought from them.

I got foreign currency transaction fee (I think $10) on my credit card statement, even though I did buy from ncixUS.com

They didn't fill out shipping paperwork properly, so UPS called me asking to pay all of these brokerage fees. I contacted nicxus.com and they said someone messed up the customs paperwork and they did fix the problem.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I made many purchases (i.e., videogames, motherboards, refurbished mobos, cpu coolers, videocards, ram) from both ncixUS.com and their Canadian site and didn't experience the problems you have noted.

They currently have a 9.63/10 (6-month) Reseller Rating:
http://www.resellerratings.com/store/NCIX

- I ordered Prolimatech Megahalems from them for $48 when everyone else was pricing it at $65.
- Once in a while they sell games for $4.99 such as H.A.W.K. last week or Stalker: Clear Sky.
- I ordered the Scythe Mugen 2 about 3 months ago for a friend using the cheapest shipping method, but they shipped it by Air the next day!
- I can recall their excellent customer service even 3 years ago when I ordered Q6600 from them I specifically asked for a G0 stepping; and they delivered G0.

I was thinking of selling my 5870 for this, then I realized that there is no way in hell I can fit this in my computer case (12"-12.5") -- So I'll stick with what I have.

Diamond has to be one of the worst OEMs ever, I would factor that into the price.
They used to be pretty good, now, they are pathetic, and don't expect any support from them.

heh, I could have used a megahalems at that price! Not that I feel my Mugen 2 is any deficient

If you were in the market for one but can wait, I'd wait for the XFX version, though, as I would tend to agree with the sentiment about Diamond as an OEM.

However, consider that it's still a reference design. So the probability of failure should be similar for all brands on the reference design. I guess you are paying $90 less for poor customer service and 1 year warranty should you encounter either.

Normally with like a vidcard with 512MB ram, that is address space reserved in the memory, so that on a sys with 4GB RAM (max recognized by Windows X86) you wind up with 3.1- 3.5GB avail.
I would be really curious with a card carrying 2GB VRAM, does that leave you with less than 2GB RAM avail in Windows with two 2GB sticks??
Inquiring minds want to know
Can anyone here with card with 1 GB give info on avail mem in Win?
I'm thinking about buying one of these big VRAM cards and dont want to cripple my system.

If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows, there is no limitation for 4GBs of ram. This only applies towards 32-bit versions.

On my F@H box, with FOUR 9600GSO cards, two 384MB and two 768MB, I get 2.25GB RAM usable, with 2x2GB DIMMs installed, under XP 32-bit.

Big thnx for reply.
Thats interesting, I wondered what the penalty would be with the gigantic GART table loading into RAM. Of course your config complicates things considerably with dual identical twins
Without knowing what apps load at startup, at first glance it would appear that you get a 1GB penalty, that cards are seen as one each. That then brings up page file usage under this extreme situation
It would be nice if you could do a screenie of your taskmanager performance window and either post it or PM it to me.
Now for comparison would also be nice to see what someone with a 1GB card has left .

Once again, thnx
