All you people who are crowing about how awesome your new Dell 1905FP monitor is: are you being honest with yourselves? I got the $312 deal about 2 weeks ago, and it took me that long to realize that I had been fooling myself. My 1905FP, revision A00, is absolute crap. When nothing is moving, the picture quality is beyond excellent. But once I even start scrolling a web page, you will see major ghosting. Scroll even more slowly, and you will be amazed. Go to a website with black background and white text (gamespot review page), and you will see the text go green. Don't even talk about games.

As far as I know, this only applies to revision A00. I think Anandtech probably got a hold of the revision A01 and reviewed that one. If any of you are not having any problems and have revision A00, please tell me.

How do you tell what revision yours is?

My monitor is perfect, including in CSS, CODUO, Halo, and Unreal2004.

No ghosting whatsoever on any web text, and gaming looks sharper than my old CRT.

I am running the DVI connection into a X800XT PE and run the monitor and all games at it's native resolution of 1280x1024 - with AA and AF maxed out.

Turn off display... press & hold menu & + buttons... turn on display (press & hold button)
After screen turns on... release all 3 buttons.
Then press menu... press + to highlight factory... press menu... press + to factory again... press menu.

i set mine up last night and was also disappointed by the ghosting. i knew it would be a problem for gamers, but i do not play games. i was seeing ghosting during normal desktop use. maybe i'm just too quick. off to check what revision i have.

For those that are seeing ghosting... did you install the Dell drivers and set the resolution to 1280 X 1024?

i just got home and found out i have an a00 revision. from the start, i installed the latest drivers downloaded from dell and set the res at 1280 x 1024. i am mildy disappointed with the ghosting, but this is my first lcd. maybe i'll get accustomed to it.

can a few more people respond with their revision and comment on ghosting. if a01 is better, i want a replacement.

gosh this stupid ghosting thing... I got a 3 year old dell 1701 FP on dvi from a 9700 nonpro and I've never seen ghosting on it playing UT2k3 and HL2.

AFA as the monitor, this is way better than mine, but I would not get a 19in with a 12x10 max res.

shouldnt be any desktop ghosting on this monitor

a friend bought a dell with the el cheapo stock 15" LCD and the ghosting was horrible when you dragged a window. but thats junk monitor.

sometimes very low physical ram can make it appear as ghosting. I would download BySoft Freeram (search in majorgeeks.com) and see how much phys ram you have left while in desktop for a time
can also be vidcard drivers conflicting with something else - like a soundcard

What card and drivers??
