if memory serves me right and correct me if wrong, but mini-pci is a pci interface, but mainly for laptop to connect to modem/nic. not really sure but i think some of the older motherboards have them too for the sound card.

It's an internal slot - under the dell there is another door just like the memory door and it is inserted there. Not sure how much of a standard this really is compared to normal PCI.

Just make sure you're buying it from Dell Home and not Dell Small Business. The link that was provided linked to the Small Business section. I just cleared that out of my cart, went to dell and then just added in Dell Home.

I have a Dlink 604 router that I want to use. I buy an access point and hook up the AP to the wired router, right? Whats the best access point to pair this card with? The pc thats going to be connected wirelessly is 2 floors down in the basement.

I tried buying it using Dell Home and got 69 + tax = $73 and change ( free shipping but no 15% off)

I tried buying it using Small business and got $58 +$9 shipping + tax = $72 change (15% off + shipping).

Please help me get the $58 delv'd price.

What am I doing wrong?

No warranty on this unless you are using it in a Dell machine with warranty. Stupid I know but it's Dell branded therefore Dell backed. Yes, I know this from experience... don't believe just give them a call. If they say it has warranty get it in writting.

That's interesting...when one of our cards failed, the replacement was delayed because the service was mistakenly entered against the laptop rather than opened for the card itself. We were told that the card is warranted for 1 year if you don't have a Dell laptop, otherwise it is added the warranty for the laptop.

That is interesting because they refused replacement on a hard drive because it was "For Dell Dimension" and I installed it in a non-Dell PC.
