Im one of the beta testers... i dunno how this game is going to pan out... i've got the system in my sig and it bogs down really bad in games that go more than 20min (90% of all games).

It is a massive CPU user... they have SERIOUS optimizations to work on....

I have been really looking forward to this one, so...
1) Very jealous you get to test this game.
2) Disappointed with what you have seen. Hopefully they get it all sorted out.

Well, a non-oc'd 3200+ isn't exactly a top CPU anymore. But still, that's not a good sign.

I've been in the beta as well and have a P4 3.06 with HT, 533 FSB with 2GB of memory. In the early beta releases I was getting serious lag like you describe but game play has improved for me with every release. Still I will be limited to small maps with fewer players. I get the feeling they have tweaked it about as much as they can and it's just a power hungry game CPU wise. Considering how much is going on in the game this really doesn't surprise me though.

I don't know about that, but I'm excited that it will support dual monitors (even if it will bring my system to a crawl...).

Its not optimized for DC, but it will definately help... currently there are issues with SoundBlaster sound cards, i believe theyre workin on it.

I had a friend beta testing that said when you've got dual core, the AI command are handed off and processed to the second core, which seems like it'd greatly improve performance. ?

I'm also on the Beta test. The game kicks arse! but, I'm running a OC'ed Opty 146 at 3Ghz with 2 gig of ram and like most have said it starts to bog at about the 15 to 20 min time frame. That problem seems to get better after every new update. I'm a huge TA fan ( I think it is the best game of all time) and this game will definetely fill that void us TA'ers have been waiting for for soooo long...and yes, the game does utilize dual core processors. Time for me to upgrade ...oooh by the way...the experimental units are way cool!

When does this game come out btw? Didnt see a release date on the site...also it says Internet Required...is this multiplayer only? if so do we have to pay per month
