Go take a look at this one in the store. The XBrite screen is amazing.

If you haven't seen XBrite( or HP BrightView or Fujistu CrystalView) do yourself a favor and check them out at a store. May ruin you on old LCDs though.

Well, I took the plunge. $717 after rebate & taxes.

They are now sold out online?

Hmmmmm........

12ms & a few other small details are what swayed me to this monitor over the Dell 2001FP.

thanks for the heads~up zlooop

I had the HS74P (17 inch model) and returned it. I returned it because the screen is very reflective. This is especially noticeable if you have a light or, as in my case, a window behind you. I also noticed that the bottom of the screen appeared brighter than the top, when I was checking for dead pixels.

wow that's a sweet looking LCD.
I wouldn't mind dumping my 1800FP for that thiing.
but what sways me is that it's only 1 inch larger $250 addition to the 1800FP for that

THere are a few people on the HardForums that have these and no one has talked about the reflection being bad. Also, Tomshardware reviewed an older version of the lcd.

717 after tax and rebates...I got my new 2001fp for $669.25, should I stick with that or jump on this...the 12ms response time seems like a big advantage...although my 2001fp is nice as hell

Sony SDMHS94P native resolution: 1280x1024
Dell 2001FP native resolution: 1600x1200

Personal preference plays a key part here. Personally, would prefer the UXGA display to the SXGA display. Also would be remiss not to mention the 2001FP is a 20" display, whereas the SDMHS94P is 19".

Believe not yet for desktop LCDs; there is however a UXGA notebook (16.1") XBRITE display.

Xbrite is beautiful, unless there is any semi bright lightsource anywhere behind you .

But it does look better than the 2001fp because the screen door effect is nearly non existant.
