So wait, you bought an iPhone 5 just recently, VERY late in its life cycle?
Not good advice no matter your priorities.
There were/are no issues. Stop trying to get a rise out of someone.
New iphone will not hit until fall. That's just over halfway into it's cycle.
Better idea: get an iphone (pending what is said at WWDC of course) - I dumped my S3 for an iphone the second I saw reception issues weren't fixed on the S4. So done with Android devices...
Samsung launches firmware update for Galaxy S4
The update provides users with the ability to put applications onto the SD card, freeing up the precious little space on the 16GB option.
Samsung has launched a firmware update for the wildly popular Galaxy S4 that should quell some unrest for those who own the 16GB version.
Once the firmware is installed, users will have the ability to offload their app installs to the SD card. That's especially important for 16GB device owners who were upset to find that they had just 9.15GB of usable space on the device's storage. Moving apps to the SD card can save some of the needed space. Samsung has also found a way to squeeze another 0.08GB of space on the device's drive, according to SamMobile, which was first to report on the news.
In addition to handling the storage issue, the software update for the Galaxy S4 includes a host of fixes and improvements, including the ability to record HDR video and a fix for the purple effect users were seeing when scrolling through pages.
According to SamMobile, the update is available only in Germany now, but the site cited sources who said it will roll out elsewhere at some point.
One question....
What happened to the accessory sub-forums on XDA? They seem to gone. This was one of my favorite parts about XDA.
Are you using Tapa HD?One question....

It's not tapatalk, it happens on my laptop too. It's just a bug in their forum software.

What the hell is a battery optimization? Different ROM? Settings? What? Are you using Tapa HD?
Tapa HD totally chokes on redirected forums on XDA. Since every model of the S4 has a fake accessory forum that redirects to the i9500/i9505 accessory forum, you won't be able to see it unless you either navigate there directly or use a less buggy app.
(Classic Tapatalk works fine. The tiny font size on Tapatalk 4 is killing me, or else I'd use it more instead of HD.)
Btw, the S4 -- with no battery optimization -- has the equivalent stock battery life of the LTE GNex + extra battery.
I am late to the party, but I joined the S4 club today.
My impressions after a few minutes.
-Fast. My VZW Galaxy Nexus wasn't bad at all. But the battery drain was a nightmare.
-Plasticky. I'm not going to lie, it doesn't inspire confidence. I'm sure dropping this phone is a gamble like any other phone. Factors like where it lands, distance dropped, and what it lands on makes a difference.
The HTC One seemed light years better.
-I picked it over the HTC One for one reason. iFixIt's rating of 1. If these guys can't take it apart and put it back together again...I sure as hell can't.
It left too many questions on battery replacement. I don't have a need to swap batteries. With an HTC Evo and VZW GN, I was used to having a charger at work, home, laptop bag, car, etc. I always felt tethered.
But I did feel a need to replace a battery after not being able to hold a charge. For some reason...batteries hate me, and they need to be replaced after 14-16 months.
That would scare me.
And it's not against the built in battery. I have no problem paying some mall kiosk 50 bucks to swap batteries. But I doubt a mall kiosk could do an HTC One.
After playing with both the HTC and the Sammy's camera, they both are stellar. Both with pros and cons. I would have been happy with either one.
I love the S4's sharpness...but I also love the wide angle lens on the HTC.
Now to root and de-bloat.
What do you think of the S4's color accuracy vs the HTC One/iPhone, in Pro Photo/Movie Mode? Check out yellow pictures...I noticed a greenish tint to yellow on the S4, none on the HTC One/iPhone.
anyone else, in the nova area, service go to shit after the storms went through yesterday?
T-Mobile is fine for me.
Hmm, no I meant yellow pictures from the internet. For example, if you go to www.nationalgeographic/125, you will see a great number of beautiful pictures. One of them is a big yellow button (the kind you see given out at conventions, etc). Compare that picture on the S4 vs HTC One/iPhone...I noticed a slight greenish tint for the S4's yellows. I'm just wondering if its only me, or maybe demo models in store are just crappy like that.
