May friggin 30th! I needed it last month!

Yeah really.

Oh well, I guess this means it will hopefully be coming out around the same time as Verizon's HTC One variant. I gave the One a spin but honestly it didn't wow me at all. If anything I could not stop noticing the terrible button arrangement, and their multitasking is worse than stock Android. Also the clock stayed in the app drawer, so that was at least one if not two rows that could be showing apps that were wasted.

The 32gig will be available later. Phone will ship on Apr 30th and should start arriving at ppls homes on May 3rd(not 30th) and later.

I will call today in the evening and pre-order since I am eligible for an upgrade, but I'm betting my old dirty socks that by the time I call they will be out of stock. (as is the usual case with such things)

Just hoping it wont feel and perform like a prototype compared to the iPhone when I finally get it. Ran back to the 4s after trying the SIII several months back, and haven't regretted it for a second.

Looks like official reviews are under embargo until products actually starts selling. (When would that be? When AT&T starts selling?) Nonetheless, there are some people who've gotten theirs @XDA forum.

Release dates out:
T-Mo - 4/24 online, 5/1 in store ($150 + $20/m)
Sprint - 4/27 ($250, $150 for new port-ins)
AT&T - 4/30 online, who knows about stores ($200)
Verizon - it's Verizon, so who knows?

by FAR. Jeez.
Isn't it actually the same sensor as the Samsung?

Is Sprint getting a version with bigger storage than the others or are they simply trying to price gouge?

Price gouge. I don't know why people are still on Sprint anyway... That LTE buildout speed is horrific.

GSM Arena updated their review yesterday based on retail unit results. The headphone output retested ridiculously clean, but I'm not sure if that's the Qualcomm version or just the usual Exynos/Wolfson excellence. All their SoC benchmarks are still on Snapdragon, though, so maybe Samsung fixed that model's audio...

edit -- the One's numbers jumped too, so it looks like the Qualcomm audio tested worse than it should have. OK, now I'm ready to buy.

I would like to read some review on the Exynos 5 Octa. After seeing dual A15s in the N10, I seriously doubted we'd see four A15s in a phone so soon. Evidently 32 nm > 28 nm did wonders for Samsung.

Likewise, it's impressive how Qualcomm managed to squeeze out so much more performance going from Krait 200 to Krait 300, under the same node (from HTC One reviews). It's a pretty astounding achievement by conventional standards.

The faster RAM in the GS4 helps a lot (plus faster clocks of course). What's interesting is Qualcomm believes their Krait 400 will match or even exceed the current A15's.

The S4 is available for pre order from AT&T. They say it will ship on 4/30.
The Death Star has moved up the schedule: it's now shipping 4/23 (this Tuesday).

Argh. You're all a buncha jerks. Just placed an order for one after reading everything in this thread. Getting here 4/27.
Those of us on Verizon have to wait... :banghead:

That's the Qualcomm audio DAC. The Wolfson is supposed to be even better.

Sidetracking a bit its sad to see how many phones skimped a few dollars on the audio DAC for noticeably worse sound when the 3.5mm jack is used by like everybody.

Supposed to be but gsmarena's testing shows that it's even better than the version of the gs3 with a Wolfson DAC.

Among the annoyances w/ the S4 is the inconsistent UI interface. It's kind of messy. There are things that are night-mode by default (and don't look configurable), some things look as if they're out of XBox screen, and there are things that look cartoony thanks to TW. It doesn't give the polished and consistent look of Xeperia Z interface. (Granted Xperia Z seems deviate very little from the stock Android)
