Dylan's version was interesting. Hendrix's version is the best cover in rock history, and a strong contender for best studio performance overall. I wish he could cover some more of my favorite songs. Anyone who likes this song, it's on the soundtrack to the movie 1969, along with a lot of other classics. Don't think that means the movie is good, though.

Lot of hate for Dylan in this thread that I don't understand. There are some Dylan songs, for example "The Times They Are a-Changin'", that no one has done better than Dylan's original. I guess it is just a generational thing.

I remember when it came out. I had a friend who said he didn't like it. It clearly bothered him and he blasted it. I realized immediately that it had staying power. Of course I've heard it many many times. It's never bothered me. Why should it? It's a powerful rendition.
