Hmmm, but yet the conference call transcripts have a much larger number. And AMD keeps going to the markets to fund operations.

According to Robert Rivert, operating loss excluding ARC charges and stock-based compensation expense was $363M in Q1 and Q2, and $148M in Q3. That looks like $874M to me. And then I go and look at the 10Q and find the operating loss of $1.187B And look at that a little farther down, cash flow of negative $1.6B.

Operating loss isn't the same as Net Cash used in operations...
As for the rest, I couldn't find them...could you list the page?

BTW, I find it interesting that you've held a short position on AMD since January, and never disclosed that in you posts...

Umm...Yeah that's what I just said. Net cash used in operatons is pretty much meaningless. It does not have anything to do with how much cash you are burning through keeping the lights on.

As far as my short position in AMD, I'm sure I've stated it many times, along with my long position in Intel. Let me know if you need links.

Do you have answers to any other of the questions I asked? For example, if AMD is in such good financial shape that they could continue down this path for five years, why did they dilute shareholder equity by 9%?

Old news here, but, AMD's issues made today's New York Times:

A.M.D. Delays Energy-Efficient Chip Again

By LAURIE J. FLYNN
Published: December 6, 2007

The energy-efficient chip that Advanced Micro Devices was counting to win customers away from Intel has been delayed again, the company said yesterday.

The company confirmed that a technical irregularity has delayed widespread availability of its Barcelona chip for servers until early next year. The company had announced in September that it was beginning to ship it to customers.

...

Dirk Meyer, president of A.M.D., hinted at a problem during a conference call with analysts in October, saying that initial production of Barcelona had been slower than expected. But he insisted that the product would be widely available by November. Company officials said yesterday that the scope of the problem had not become evident until after that call.

It seems that AMD is having problems telling the truth about anything, doesn't it?

MMMmmmm... If the stock drops a lot and you think they will make a comeback then it might be a good stock to bet on... But then again, if they don't then you loose invested money...

No. The person at AMD who was going to tell Dirk is on vacation. Was on vacation. Was on vacation, but now came back and told Dirk.

Meanwhile: Barcelona benchmarks pulled:

AMD denies 'stop ship' with Barcelona because chip is not shipping

Some reports out there say that AMD has halted shipments of Opteron altogether because of the bug, although a company spokesman denied those claims.

"We haven't changed the shipping pattern," AMD man Phil Hughes told InternetNews. "It's only a stop ship if it's shipping in volume, and we're only shipping Barcelona for specific customer commitments, like larger volume deployments."

Not shipping in volume, only shipping to large volume customers. Check. Got it.
