I just got off the phone with Dell's "tech support" I spent 4 hours today, 2 hours yesterday. Basically I'm having a problem countless others are having. The last guy I spoke with tells me theres nothing I can do because my monitor passes the self test. He tells me it's my system even though I explained to the fvcktard that I've tried it on 2 different systems with the same results. I asked what should I do since I just spent $600 bucks on a LCD that does not work and he told me theres nothing he can do. They don't support my system since it's not a Dell system. I then asked to be transferred to his supervisor which he said he was doing but of course, he disconnected me (I hope his nuts shrivel up like raisins)

I paid for this monitor with a Dell credit account. WTF can I do? They're just frustrating the sh!t out of me now.

:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|

UPDATE (Jan 26)
I'm on the phone with Trish now from sales and she said she went ahead and placed an order for another one for me. She said as soon as I get the new one, put the old one in the box and call them to arrange a pick up. They'll have to charge me for the replacement monitor but I'll be refunded as soon as I return the bad one. She's currently trying to get me an RMA number.
God I'm still scared that they're trying to screw me. I can't afford to pay for 2 monitors. Should I go for it?

UPDATE2 (Jan 26)
HAH! They're all lying pieces of sh!t that deserve to die. The RMA lady told me that there is no exchange setup at all!!!! :|:| I told her to cancel my 2nd order and started bitching to her and she asked me what I want. I said I like the monitor but I have to exchange it because it DOES NOT work. I asked her is that too much to ask after spending $600.00 She said no and then proceeded to cancel the 2nd order. Now she just transferred me to the tech dept saying that they can not do an exchange unless told to by the tech department.

UPDATE3 (Jan 27)
God damnit. The last moron I spoke with this morning told me they don't do exchanges WTF??? She said I have to return the old one and repurchase the new one at $200 more. I asked her if she's out of her damn mind. Apparently she didn't appreciate that comment.

UPDATE4 (Jan 27)
Whew hopefully it's finally done. I spoke with someone else now and she gave me a dispatch # saying I should receive the replacement in 7-10 business days. As soon as I receive the new one, I place the old one in the box and put the shipping label they provide on it and schedule it to be picked up. God I hope it's finally done!

break it.

Also, Dell told me they wouldn't rma a monitor if I didn't try it in another room. I put the phone down for like 2 minutes and he hung up. Kill one for me.

I don't know if it would help but try filing a report with the better bussiness bureau.
Edit:
I checked their records and saw this:
One complaint was processed by the Bureau in it's three-year reporting period. The company did respond to the complaint.
So they might respond if you file a complaint

Remember, if they try to screw you, cancel the payment.

I just realized many corporate companies use other companies to handle tech support for their products (you can't tell if they do). So it would make sense that sales people are more competent than tech support.

I recently spent some time on the phone with dell, 3 seperate calls. Believe it or not, the second guy i talked to spoke perfect english. Sadly, he couldn't figure anything out, so he put me on hold to ask his supervisor. Guess what... disconnected. Called back, Indian guy. He was very nice and helpful, just hard to understand. Sorry to hear about your trouble OP.

Just call customer service next time. Don't bother with tech support. I hear they give you the run around. I called customer service when my monitor was broke, demanded that I get shipped a new one. They did exactly what you described. RMAd it, charged it, and once I got it I would return the defective one.

Not every citizen of the US speaks perfect english with the perfect dialect. I understand it is hard for a perfect person such as yourself to understand this.

Everytime a see a closed minded sentence like this, I roll my eyes.

Doesn't make any diffence. Commenting on the way someone talks is the same as talking about the color of their skin. It is close minded and racist.

Besides, Dell has moved a lot of support back to the states and other places.

That's what I tried to do (Update in the first post) The stupid RMA lady told me she can't give me a RMA # because there is no exchange setup on my order or some sh!t like that.

Sorry but not true at all. The color of someone's skin does not affect how well you can understand someone's speech. They're accent, however, does affect their ability to be understood. Especially when their sole job is to speak with customers and provide service.

I don't think he ever commented on how people talk, just that the ads show a white american 20 year old in reallity it is some guy in India you can't understand that is reading some script.

Oh go cry somewhere. If you want to get a job that involves talking in english learn how to speak english first. And no it isn't racist.

Where did anyone comment about the way someone talks prior to your stupid post. Maybe if you pulled your head out of your ass you could understand the comment.

So this would be the same if I were to call a shop in Alabama for example.

Trying to talk to this person and not being able to because of his southern accent? Does that make him unamerican too?
