Any FreeSync monitors that recently went from announced to available ? As an nVidia-owner myself, I mainly look at G-Sync monitors. I probably missed a few new FreeSync monitors ....

can someone here school me on freesync range? Is it hard-coded into the monitor itself, or strictly through drivers / software?

It is defined in monitor driver.
There are tools that can be used to change freesync range values (an a lot more).

I had a problem downloading proper tools, but after some searching I found a version that worked with my display.

Most, if not all upcoming freesync monitors can be moved to available.
There are AOC G2460VQ6 and G2260VWQ6 missing on the list.

I already have my freesync display so I don't follow it closely

There have the XF270HU on amazon. It is 144hz, ips, 27".

It does not say the freesync range and almost no one seems to have known about the release of this monitor. Even the acer (us) website doesn't list it.

Googling some info it supposedly supports a full range for free sync 30-144hz but that was just off the one website I could find.

30-144hz would be nice. When you get below the minimum Freesync it really is bad when Freesync is enabled (mine has 40hz lower limit). I always aim for at least 60fps regardless though because I don't like even 50fps in most games like shooters. But whenever I get drops below 40fps like in some Fallout 4 parts it truly is horrifying!

Supposedly, the 65 inch and 60 inch models may not support freesync and the largest may only be 55 inches (which is so disheartening I kind of want to cry thinking about it again.)

I'm going to hope otherwise so I'm just saving my money up and waiting.

The range on the Acer XF270HU appears to be 40-140.
Eizo FS2735 will have 2 ranges: 35-90 and 56-144.

That Acer Z35 has to be out soon, right? That is THE ONE monitor I'm waiting to see in action. VA (I prefer it to IPS) and 200Hz (haven't seen that since my CRT died). Seeing as how my GTX 970 bounces all over from 30fps-400fps (depending on the game and settings), a monitor like this would be perfect.

So, fun story, I had an order in for a X34 I put in on 11/29 that said it would ship 12/2, they ended up cancelling it saying they had none in stock (despite the website specifically saying it was in stock and that they would ship 12/2). So, I ended up asking the sales rep what date the Z35 was expected, and she said they were expecting it on Christmas week (12/21). Not sure how accurate that will be.

Still pissed about the whole lying-about-stock-and-never-notifying-me bit, probably not going to order unless I get a credit :-/

Got a Nixeus NX-VUE24

going from 60 Hz to 144 Hz in a game like CS GO is an immediate massive difference in how smooth the game feels

Freesync is pretty nice to have in a game like Fallout 4.

some people have reported that the display looks washed out. I just think the defaults for the display are set brighter than they should be resulting in a washed out look. I tried messing with the OSD settings of the monitor and wasn't having much luck until I used AMD CCC gamma and changed it from 1 to 0.65.

I'm sorry about that.

As I wrote a few weeks ago, I've gone from a decade-long sabbatical to a busy job. I have no time to be active on fora anymore. If anyone wants to take over maintening this list, please say so.

Secondly, I've always been only interested in G-Sync monitors myself. I added the FreeSync monitors to the list as a service to others.

It looks like the vendors who produce and sell scaler-chipsets for monitors are adding FreeSync for a minimal cost to most of their new scaler-chipsets. And thus I expect there will be boatloads of FreeSync monitors coming up. And in a few years, most monitors will have FreeSync. No way that I will be able to keep track of all the new FreeSync monitors.

Again, if someone wants to maintain this list, let us know.
