All-In-One needed

My old All-In-One is finally looking to be on it's last legs. The feeder died a couple years ago and now it is having printing problems.

I am looking for a printer/fax/scanner/photo printer with a multipage feeder and flatbed for copy/scan.

Networkable is needed, but wireless would be nice.

Built-in card reader is not necessary.

I am not partial to any brand.

Though it should not make a difference, but this is going to be used with a Mac.

Availability on Amazon is a BIG plus (I have a credit and Prime).

Personally I prefer the Brother brand printers. Inexpensive to moderately priced. I bought a backup one the other day for 49 on sale at Office Depot and it does everything plus wireless networking...I can pickup off brand ink on amazon 10 cartridges for around 10 bucks shipped. Only grip is the feeder tray on both of my brothers is flimsey and I have to be gentle/careful...otherwise built strong.

I recently bought a Canon PIXMA MG5220 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One (about $100) and I totally love it, it is certainly the best printer I have ever owned. PQ is top notch! The copy machine and scanner are not something I was looking for or needed, but now that I have them I love having them!

...........oh and this MG5220 is easily the best $100 I have ever spent on a piece of gear for my personal computer set-up. After having it awhile, id have paid $300 for it.:thumbsup:

I recently bought a Canon PIXMA MG5220 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One (about $100) and I totally love it, it is certainly the best printer I have ever owned. PQ is top notch! The copy machine and scanner are not something I was looking for or needed, but now that I have them I love having them!

I looked at the MG5220 at Fry's.

No fax. Otherwise, I liked it and will see what is the next model up with fax.

If we talk photo printing in a printer, we are stuck with gasp an inkjet, that have always been basically no armed bandits, vending ink that costs no more than $50/gal to make to consumers at a varying costs of $2500 to $20,000/gal.

Six years ago, non chipped Canons were the best bargain going, especially for the refilling types like me, now almost all inkjet printers are chipped, which ties users to OEM cartridges with similar profit margins.

The lone inkjet chipping exception is brother, who has, for no explainable reason to me, failed to establish itself as a true photoprinting option. Part of the failure is in brother failing to offer a five color printer. Because to become a real quality photo printer, the printer must have the photo printing colors of at least cyan, magenta , and yellow, it must also offer a true photo black.

I picked up an HP Photosmart on Black Friday and its pretty slick. Photo quality is tremendous, prints wirelessly from my nexus one phone, and has separate 4x6 photo paper loading bay. Scanner works perfectly.

Love my Canon MG8120 / doesn't fax, but it's got superb printing and scanning (one of the few with a CCD scanner, rather than the cheapo CIS elements)!

I got it set up on our network. It was not easy and I had to fudge things a little, but it works. It is a little slow to get the first page out, but otherwise fast enough.

Because of problems with my main desktop unrelated to the printer, I was not able to install the scanner software, so I have not tested that yet.

It is amazing how much we missed having a printer, if just for a few days.
