All my videos have a red tint

Wasn't 100% sure where to put this, but hopefully someone here can help me.

I am trying to set up my new media center pc and a lot of my videos (that I know are good) play with a red tint to them. It may be my Divx or Xvid codec, I am not 100%.

Any thoughts?

Is there a good free codec pack out there?

I use the k-lite mega codec pac (includes quicktime alternative and real alternative), seems to work pretty well.

Just a note on the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack. I have a Geforce 6600 non-GT and I found with the latest drivers it screws up some videos. I had to go back to driver 84.21
I just ordered an ATI X1650 XT iSilence II partly because of this. Apparently, it's an issue with Nvidia cards.

I had a similar problem, which was resolved by turning off video acceleration in WMP.

uninstall all your other packs and just use FFDSHOW and media player classic to play everything...so awesome (and tweakable)

Second the rec fddshow. Unless you are encoding videos, you don't need to mess around with installing codecs.

Very simple but extremely well made codec pack, works with anything you could need when paired with real- and qt-alternative.

Ask on their forums about getting rid of other crap.

really? you sure about that? i'm using K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 2.15 and have an NVIDIA 6600 AGP 256MB and my drivers are the latest (93.71) and it's working perfectly for me.

OP, use ffdshow. it's the best. allows post-processing that can significantly improve video quality.
