Nope, won't ever happen. There are zero consequences for women who falsly claim rape. Sure, some states *can* jail them for a couple weeks if they wait more than 72 hours to retract their claims (after the damage is done), but that is about it.

That's not the way they were reporting on the radio as I heard a little while ago. They said that no DNA from the suspects was found so I naturally thought girl fingered the wrong people, maybe someone not from the team. This sounds a lot more conclusive that there was no rape.

Doesn't necessarily clear them completely, although I think this woman either lied about being raped or about who actually raped her. Time stamped photos apparenty clearly show that she was already cut and bruised at the time of arrival. Also she was unable to identify specifically which members of the team had raped her. And having a previous record doesn't help her credibility either. The prosecutor has no choice but to investigate her accusations. If I was the prosecutor I would want to see if she passed a polygraph. If she did I would attempt to find out who else was at the house that night considering that others present could have violated her. At any rate the Duke team's reputation has been sullied most likely without cause.

That's a strange thing to say, you feel less likely to believe a rape victim if she accuses an athlete?

I think both sides of that issue are totally fvcked up. We should believe the victims as much as the suspects until the facts are made available. No one is guilty until they're proven guilty.

I blame the media for this. A girl can scream rape and totally ruin someone's career even if she's full of shat. At the same time, legitimate rape victims are shunned by society. Everything about that is fvcked up.
