I am thinking about dropping Hasselbeck, starting Manning (the little one) and picking up branch (I hope he is better after week 4.)

I dropped Hasselbeck for Manning last week and I'm glad I did.

30 points though? Really? Maybe the scoring is different.

Oakland has two of the better corners in the league, Eddie Royal made them look dumb... but Eddie Royal is a talent and Cutler is on the verge of becoming a great QB. K.C. won't have as much success. Devery Henderson isn't even a consideration for me. Saints will look to Bush or Shockey or someone else. Henderson is a career backup.

Thanks for the advice Cuda. Just waiting to see results for Jackson tonight. Bowe would have gotten me 9 points this week but at least I know I have a solid guy 3rd WR on the bench if need be.

Hoping that the Dallas K can't out score both Romo and Jackson by 6 tonight or I will lose

Of course my Rb tandem of Tomlinson and Turner really carried me :frown:. Thankfully Holt actually had a respectable week unlike his zero point week 1. That, and my opponent had Ocho Cinco and Houshmandzadeh (autodrafted).

I think Palmer will be fine. The weather was horrible yesterday for the game. Give him another week or two, he'll rebound.

About to propose a trade and want your opinion on it

Standard scoring
1 QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1 TE, 1K and 1 DEF spot.

I want to propose the following:

I give:
Warner
Fasano

I get:
Witten
Julius Jones (RB from Seattle)

I will drop Ricky Williams and pick up Kerry Collins from the waiver wire for insurance. My primary QB is Cutler so I think I am OK letting Warner go.

I have great WRs:
Moss
Fitzgerald
Calvin Johnson
David Patten

I have OK RBs:
Earnest Graham
Jamal Lewis
Tim Hightower
Chris Perry
Ricky Williams

Thoughts?

Assuming you don't have some deadbeats at the bottom of the league that vacated already, I'd look at the bottom teams and see who's in desperate need of a QB (IE: Tom Brady owners) and make some offers there. Fasano saw his stock hit bottom this week after putting up a whopping ZERO points.

No way the other guy accepts this trade. Even if he is desperate for a QB he would be better off keeping Witten and Jones and picking up someone like O'Sullivan or Kitna on the waiver wire.

My inspiration for this is really to get a new TE (since Fasano is worthless) and to get some value for a QB who is very hot right now, but might lose his starting role after a bad start or two. Julius Jones is really just another body since straight up Witten for Warner is crazy.

The only other TEs I would consider in a trade for Warner are Gates, Winslow and Gonzalez. Gates is injured and Gonzalez plays for a horrible team significantly reducing their value. Winslow is in between - so my primary target is Witten. I would like to try to work something out with Witten's owner since he is in desperate need of a good QB.

If I throw in a back like Williams or hightower, does it make it more likely to be accepted?

I don't think it'd work, unless that guy is really desperate for Warner. You'd probably have to throw someone like Earnest Graham in there.

Graham is splitting carries with Dunn - would me giving Warner/Graham and getting Witten/Julius Jones still be a good trade for me?

Graham has been carrying me on the RB side since all my others are so bad.

Thoughts?

There really are very few reasonable QBs on the waiver wire. Last I looked Griese and Kerry Collins were all that was available.

what's his team look like?

you should probably offer it to him and maybe negotiate back and forth a bit. Never know what he might do. I'm just saying personally I wouldn't accept that trade.

Cassell disappeared minutes after Brady went down.

He is good for trade bait, and that is all. I do not blame anyone for picing him up though....I did the same minutes after brady went down. That said, for every week they have him, his trade value will go down.

Ah, forgot to post my team after our draft 2 weeks ago. This is our first year with punters, and it's been kind of pointless so far. mistakenly drafted the SF second-string punter, had to switch him out the first week, hehe. I picked up Buffalo's punter, who grabbed 11 points against Seattle in week 1, only got me 3 points yesterday. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with the team so far, though I never wanted Addai, and he has sucked so far. As always, my receiving corps is pretty strong
This week's starters:

QB Philip Rivers
RB Joseph Addai,
RB Ronnie Brown
RB/WR Steve Slaton
WR Calvin Johnson, Det WR
WR Bryant Johnson, SF WR
TE Antonio Gates

LB Lance Briggs
LB Manny Lawson
DL Dwight Freeney
DL Robert Mathis
CB DeAngelo Hall
S Adrian Wilson
DB Terrence McGee
DP E.J. Henderson
K Neil Rackers
P Brian Moorman

Bench:
QB: David Gerrard
WR: Reggie Williams
CB: Champ Bailey
DE: Julius Peppers
LB: Terrell Suggs

We've always done individual defensive players, which has been great. The starters show the actual positions we need to fill, which is new this year: usually have DL spot and DB slot that we could fill with CB, DB or S. Now, we need individual CB, DB or S to fill those slots. Extremely happy with my defense. Few players have been more consistent for FF scoring on defense than Adrian Wilson over the last 4 years, so I drafted him early. Some dipshit dropped Mathis first week, and I snatched him off of waivers. He's been a sack machine ever since he joined the league, mainly due to the health of Freeney, of course.

I benched Bailey this week hoping Hall would have a favorable match-up. Lost about 3 points on that, and was caught sleeping after picking up Slaton for RB this week when the Huston/Baltimore game was canceled. I picked up Manny Lawson at the last second, and he blocked a punt for me. I'm going to drop him to try and claim Sproles off of waivers...gambling that he'll get more touches after the first 2 games. Though, I imagine he'll be a popular pickup.

Even with Slaton starting on a bye week, and losing ~5 total points to bench players, I should end up with 3rd-best points this week. Now 2-0

Odd thing: as soon as a game starts, Free Agents immediately go into waivers and remain there until Thursday. Kind of blows, but it does make waiver priority worthwhile. Seeing as how no one ever found a use for waivers, this adds something new to the league. It was unintentional, but I think we'll get used to it. It's also our first year doing football through ESPN...which we've largely hated for baseball.

His team:

David Garrard
Marvin Harrison
Devery Henderson
Greg Lewis
Brian Westbrook
Laurence Maroney
Jason Witten
Kevin Curtis
Marques Colston
Robert Meachem
Julius Jones
Dante Rosario
Josh Scobee
Baltimore
Tampa Bay

I'm thinking about offering both

I give:
Warner/Fasano or Warner/Williams

for

I get:
Witten/Julius Jones

Are there any players on either team with significant output for fantasy football aside from Andre Johnson?

If you have individual defensive players, then Mario Williams is a top pick for your defensive side.

also, pick up Slaton, as it seems he'll be starting RB for Huston for indefinite amount of time

I agree with that. Just checked now and the waiver wire has 3 possible QBs to pickup:

Jason Williams
Kerry Collins
Brian Griese

There are two other starters:

Joe Flacco
Chad Pennington

Calvin Johnson - 130 yards, 2 TD's

And on the bench I had Santana Moss - 160 yards, 1 TD

:Q

I blew the call on Larry Johnson though. Played him and sat Earnest Graham. Whoops. Same with Eli vs Brees. D'oh.

Brilliant week otherwise.

Damnit Kurt Warner! couldn't he at least toss one of those TDs Fitzgerald's way?
160 yards and no TD is kind of annoying, considering all 3 tosses went to one guy. No matter, I guess. I still beat my guy by ~50 points this week (currently leading by 60; he has one player going tonight)

Well Yahoo wont give you any points until midnight (or tomorrow?) unless you fork over $10. Blech

That's primarily why we switched to ESPN, though I still wish we stayed with Yahoo. I loved Yahoo's interface, and based on our experience with Baseball, ESPN is too freaking buggy. Too many hoops to jump through just to pick up players, manage DL...all sorts of BS.

Well, off the top of my head I can tell that you beat me this week in the free league . Boldin, Chambers, and Graham will have scored more than my whole team.

I was talking about CBS, because for my bigger money league at work, the commissioner chose CBS sportsline, and we all kicked in an extra 5-10 bucks for all the bells and whistles. Pisses me off when a service you pay for does not work. Oh well.

Its so weird how the whole thing works. I made a few bad calls benching people, but others scored monstrous points.

Yeap; it's what makes it fun and heartbreaking all at the same time. The only drawback is when your good fantasy players are playing your favorite team.

Tee most difficult thing I find is having my starting QB go against one of my CB or DBs in game. An interception is bittersweet....though with our scoring system, kind of cancels itself out
