Hmmm.

I'd be accepting this trade right now rather than posting on ATOT and risking the offerer coming to his senses.

HAving said that, it will be interesting to see the affect Boldin's injury has on Fitzgerald. Either the double teams will cut his productivity way down or the fact that now there really is only one target will give him a huge boost. Don't know which....

OK guys - another question.

I have 5 WRs and am wondering which 3 to start:

Fitzgerald
Calvin Johnson
Randy Moss
Roy Williams
Chris Henry

I am thinking Johnson, Moss and Fitzgerald.

Thoughts?

OK guys - another question.

I have 5 RBs and am wondering which 2 to start:

Chris Perry
Earnest Graham
Warrick Dunn
Correll Buckhalter
Jamal Lewis (BYE)

I am thinking Graham and Dunn since they are playing Denver. It appears that Westbrook will be playing which really lowers Buckhalter's value. Perry plays for Cinci which is enough said.

Thoughts?

LJ and Westbrook, LJ will probably get contained because Panthers have a solid Run-D but he'll still get his touches and maybe a TD or 2...You know Westbrook is good for it, and Ronnie Brown vs the Chargers D is not gonna turn out like last week vs the Pats lmao

For those who think Moss didn't play since he got you 0 points, he played the whole game. The Eagles doubled him constantly throughout the game (opening up Cooley for his big day). He actually caught a pass but was negated by Devin Thomas OFF pass int. penalty.

Ouch, that's gotta hurt. I've played the highest scoring team for the week twice myself. Thankfully, there is still plenty for football left. Don't give up yet!!!

I'm in a league that was formed here in ATOT. The commissioner proposed a trade earlier this week.

I got:
Plaxico Burress
Steve Smith

He got:
Carson Palmer
Braylon Edwards

Now that Palmer is out today he asked for me to reverse the trade. I thought he was joking and rejected the trade. Now he's posted a Commissioner's Note:

Everyone I need your vote on the trade that was completed this week between my team (Parcell's Jap Plays) and Yzzimians.

I had proposed the trade because I was desperate for a QB and overpaid a bit to get one. The trade was slightly in the advantage of Yzzim but I was OK with it as I was getting the QB I needed.

It was reported today that Palmer would miss todays game and quite possibly more with an injury. The main reason for makeing the trade was for the QB. The trade now looks like Burress/Smith for B.Edwards which is clearly one sided.

I am putting the trade up to a vote to the owners here. If you feel it is too one sided then I can reverse the trade and the players will be returned to their rosters. I would need a majority vote (7) to overturn the deal.

Now I know some of you may say tough crap - injuries happen and whatnot. If that is the case then I would urge that maybe the two owners can work out another deal to compensate for the QB being hurt. Maybe trade Burress back in return for another WR or something.

I will not make any changes until the league decides. I will give it until 11:30pm Saturday next week to make the decision.

Thanks!

Now I don't play FF much, this is my second year playing. Is this normal? It doesn't seem fair, IMO.

Didn't realize it was one of the money leagues which means it's probably not smart to just quit if you have alread paid. The commish should have to live with a trade that lop sided since he proposed it. I can't even begin to think why he would propose that deal.

Anyway, looks like two members have already voted against you according to the other thread. Unfortunately I think you might lose the vote because the others feel the trade makes your team much better than the rest. Since it looks like odds might be stacked against you, maybe make a counter proposal that you get to keep one of the players he traded you and only switch one back. Only do this if it looks like everybody is going to vote to reverse the trade. Since he made a stupid move, he should lose something.

Lastly, if your counter offer isn't accepted and the vote isn't looking good, make sure to let everyone know that you are up for sale if you fall out of contention (i.e. throw games either for some compensation or just to whatch him fall down the standings). Or follow FallenHero's advice and trade your guys away to screw him over.

Actually, the problem appears to be that pending trades were never authorized to be up for league votes in the first place, giving the commissioner sole power over vetos. Had it been up to league vote, it would be on everyone else to review it when it comes up and offer their own input. If I were in that league, and not part of this trade, I would not vote, or at least vote in you favor, as it seems the rules are broken to begin with. It sounds like the commissioner with sole veto power would probably only intervene on trades that hurt his team.

It was his dumb decision and he should live with it. I could bring up the notorious Brian Roberts for Ugeuth Urbina trade to open up our baseball season a few years ago, but those of you that know a little about baseball can imagine how that turned out (...I did quite well )

So did the commish reverse the trade? I looked in the other thread and he's now trying to trade for Grant. Wondering if he's offering up Westbrook and Turner for him?

I'm up by 2 points going into tonight. I have the kicker left to play. My opponent's player have all played already. Would you bench or start the kicker?

I gave him Grant, I'm actually happy to rid of him; what a disappointment he has been.

KT

Edit: no the trade was not reversed.

does your league give minus points for missed field goals?

I would say start him. doubt he's going to miss two field goals and go scoreless the rest of the way. and you'll need the points should tiebreakers come into effect at the end of the season.

Play him. You'll be pissed if some stat change comes out tomorrow changing points around a little.

-1 for missed PAT
-1 pt for missed 40-49 yards
-2 pt for missed <39 yards

1 pt for PAT
3 pt for <39 yards
4 pt for 40-49 yards
5 pts for >= 50 yards

Tiebreaker may be a concern for me. There appears to be 4 teams fighting for the last 2 playoff spots judging by how the season is going so far. I guess I'll start Longwell (vs NO defense) and just hope he doesn't pull a hammy after missing a field goal or something.

LT is really throwing me off this year. The rest of my team is fine, but his 5, 6 point weeks he's been having (not counting last week) are costing me my games.

I just picked up Le'Ron McClain (BAL) off the waivers. He's out performed Stephen Jackson, MJD, and other top 20 picks sharing carries with McGahee.

Right now he's about even with Graham and Johnson and goes up against an Indy Defense that has allowed 188 rushing yards a game next week. Oakland, Miami, Cincy and Cleveland are also coming up.

OK - Westbrook has two broken ribs. The report says that the injury is not going to keep him out, but the pain might. I was in the process of trading for him and was close to finalizing a deal (at least I thought I was). Is he worth still pursuing?

I already have Buckhalter (in case the ankle injury was more serious than at initial glance). Thoughts?

I really need a good running back and have 4 top notch wide receivers (can only play 3) and two great fantasy QBs (can only play 1).

Thanks.

PS - From the horse's mouse so to speak.

PPS - Kevin Curtis is still on the waiver wire. So even if I trade two for one or three for two, I can replenish my WRs quite easily. I think he will back by week 8 (week 7 is Philly's BYE). He might even play this week, but will have to move to not lose the opportunity.

I have Reggie Wayne, Terrel Owens, T.J. Housh, Mushin Muhammed.

I need a RB. He has Brandon Jacobs, Chris Perry, All Day AP, and Michael Turner.

He'll probably want Wayne. What would be a fair trade?
