For any really good advice you'd have to ask someone who knows both of you and your relationship.

From just the sound of it, I'd say that she likes you and would never want to hurt you, but she doesn't feel the same way about you right now that you do about her.

Maybe you could ask her if she said what she did because she thinks her feelings for you could change or if she just doesn't want to hurt you and lose your friendship.

It depends on whether or not you want to take the chance on getting the answer you don't want and how you'd handle it if you do.

She's not into you, and this is her way of letting you off easy. BUT, if things don't work out with whomever else she's got her eye on, she's got you "waiting" for her patiently like a little dog. On top of that, she knows you like her, so she likes the attention you've been giving her, and she doesn't want that to stop. Women love attention, it's a fact. She's gonna string you along, keeping you just interested enough until you give up, or she finds someone that she wants to date. You might be the backup, or worse, bub. sorry.

I'm late to this, but when I said it in the past (said it twice), it meant "Go away, I don't want to date you but I'm too wussy to tell you straight up." If you're talking about a 17-yr. old girl, that's probably what she meant. If you're talking about either a 26-yr. old or the maturity-equivalent, then maybe she actually meant that she really isn't ready right now.

I think some of the meanings of things we women say change with age and maturity.
