allergies asthma

So I have an internship which has an undetermined length to it, so I moved in with two friends. Honestly its the most fun i've had living with two people before..I've always have had bad roomates. One problem...they have a cat. I've been lving here for about 2 months now but I am allergic to the cat. At first it wasn't a problem, but its taking a toll on me. I cough everyday, and at night i snore, and in the morning I am all stuffed up. This sucks. I still might stick through it, I just have one question. Can being exposed to allergies for a long period of time cause permanent asthma? If so i don't want to stay any longer.

You are born with Asthma so you will not develop it, if anything your allergies will eventually get used to the cat's dander. Go buy some claritin and some saline spray and take it every night and call it a day. Also, make sure that cat cannot get in your room

I have a cat and dog, and I also have allergies.

Go with what Griffis said. Claritin (the generic stuff is like $5 for a month) and some saline will do ya well. I keep my bedroom door shut, and take the meds. No problems here at all.
