Allwinner A80T

Hello!

I found nothing about subj, so decided to open a separate thread. According to manufacturer of 9.7" Onda V989 (Allwinner A80T, 2048x1536 resolution, RAM 2GB) it gets 48,102 on AnTuTu. I understand AnTuTu is not GFXBench T-Rex HD or Manhattan, but nevertheless would like to understand - how can it be?

According to manufacturer Allwinner A80 (I don't know the difference between A80 and A80T) has 4 x Cortex-A7 + 4 x Cortex-A15 CPU (big.LITTLE, but all the eight cores of A80 can work at the same time) and PowerVR G6230 GPU.

In Galaxy S4 (Exynos 5 Octa) we have the same 4 x Cortex-A7 + 4 x Cortex-A15 CPU (big.LITTLE) and in iPhone 5S Apple A7 we have PowerVR G6430 which is more powerful than PowerVR G6230.

Exynos 5 Octa cache: Cortex-A15 has 32KB + 32KB (L1) and 1MB (L2); Cortex-A7 has 32KB + 32KB (L1 cache) and 512KB (L2 cache).
Apple A7 cache: 64KB + 64KB (L1), 1MB (L2), 4MB (L3).
Allwinner A80T cache: 2MB + 512KB (L2). L1 - ?

Cortex-A7 estimated core performance is 1.9 DMIPS/Mhz, while Cortex A15 has 3.5 DMIPS/Mhz.

Galaxy S4 scores 28,018, iPhone 5S scores about 30,000.

What do you think - what is the main reason for Onda V989 getting 48,102 - simultaneous work of Allwinner A80T cores, it's cache or what else?


There is also very impressive performance of 9.7" Pad P1 on AnTuTu - 40,046 (Rockchip RK3288, 2048х1536 resolution, RAM 2GB). Rockchip RK3288 has 4 х Cortex-A17 CPU and Mali-T764 GPU. As I can't compare Mali-T764 with other GPUs, it's performance doesn't seem strange to me. But still I would like to know your opinion about Rockchip RK3288.

Rather controversial results on GFXBench. There are following resolutions:

1280 x 736, 6.8"
1280 x 800, 7"
2048 x 1440, 15.6"
2048 x 1536, 16"
2048 x 1536, 7.4"
2048 x 1536, 9.6"

Due to mess Offscreen is above Onscreen on T-Rex, and below it on Manhattan. Can't understand:

1) To what gadget with what resolution (1280x736 or 2048x1536) refer the Onscreen results?

2) When you choose Top below, why there is 14.8 fps on T-Rex, while inside the top result is 2335 Frames (41.7 Fps)?

3) Why later result is below the earlier one? In case of MiPad was the opposite, and it could be explained with software updates.

4) How it comes the poor result of Allwinner A80 on T-Rex (14.8/27.2 fps) combines with 48,102 on AnTuTu? E.g. Xiaomi Mi Pad with Tegra K1 on T-Rex scores 42.8 fps Onscreen и 61.4 fps Offscreen, while Tegra K1 on AnTuTu scores about 40 th. From the other hand iPhone 5S also scores 30 th on AnTuTu, while 40.7 fps on T-Rex Onscreen. Let's assume iPhone 5S is not fast on AnTuTu because it tests it on Full HD (is it so?), but MiPad has the same resolution with Onda V989 - 2048x1536.
