Almond butter instead of peanut butter?

I love Peanut Butter! However, I read in some stupid magazine about the health benefits of almond butter instead. In any case, I'd like to give it a shot. Is it a replacement in a sandwich for peanut butter or is it really more like a butter that one would cook with and not eat just with bread?

I actually enjoy almond butter more than peanut butter (gf is allergic to peanuts)

I do however miss the taste of peanuts...glorious, glorious peanuts.

i like it. but if your preference is for creamy peanut butter, then you may be out of luck with almond butter. it is rather gritty, almost sandy, in texture.

what the fuck is Apple butter? I saw it in the grocery store yesterday in the same section as peanut butter but.. apples aren't even close to peanuts..

It's good, but it's not comparable to the nut butters. I don't know why its called apple butter.

It's a base of apples with lots of different spices in it. It's very good, I recommend trying it.

I've always thought it would be cool to get one of the machines that they have at some grocery stores. The ones with the hopper ontop that grinds it fresh for you. Nothing better than fresh nut butter.
