Alright, im sure manyof you remember my cluster of yact's from when i was trying to find a car. well i did find one, and it turns out the car i bought was basically a stripped down car audio competition winning car. Its a 2000 Honda Accord 2dr EX 6cyl with all the options, bought at a dealer about 50 minutes from home and in a different state.

I was at a local bar watching a friend's band play and inbetween songs the dj guy announced that someone was up front looking for someone who owned a car that fit my cars description. Turns out it was the previous owner. He lives in my town, funny that I went kinda far away to buy it.. Anyways, starts to tell me everything he had done to the car... alot of it was stripped out when he traded it in (kid on the way, he bought a minivan). Anyways, its already been dynamatted, he had kick panels and a custom sub box (that I bought from him). He also had the 3 infinity perfect 10" subs that I picked up last night.

I bought a new headunit (eclipse cda8445), which if you check the big car audio forums, it is pretty much one of the best sounding head units available. Being that there is a new line coming out, i haggled one from a local dealer for well under what they were asking. So I got that in, plus I bought some new amps. I bought an Alpine 600rmsx1(2ohm) monoblock sub amp as well as a Alpine 4x100rms amp. I've built a plexiglass amp rack for those.

Being that i just got the cash to finally buy the subs off of him, I've been able to kinda throw everything together (still rough around the edges), but I' finally getting an idea of what this install of mine is going to turn out like...

granted, im probably going to recut the trunk pieces that go around the box and use new carpet, and im also in the process of making a trim piece for the amp rack for behind the seat... (to cover alot of wires, where the plexiglass stops, etc)... I'm also cutting another plexiglass piece for on top of the amps, which is what the red blocks are for on the amp rack..

bla bla bla here are the pics

the car

the amps

custom trunk pieces

kickpanels

more kickpanels

I still have some work to do....

there is about 2 inches of space underneath the new trunk floor...

about the spare........

edit: once the other plexglass panel is done, which will protect the amps from stuff in the trunk, im probably just going to set the spare tire on the space between the amps and the subs.. i just bought a vinyl cover for my spare, and im probably just going to velcro it down to keep it fixed...

Mmmm Focal components. Those better sound good

I need to get around to installing my frontstage. Have a pair of Kef Q160's along with a Monitor 1 4x70W to install (good stuff, made by ARPA ie - Zapco & Arc).

being that the car is pretty heavily dynamatted, you'd be surprised at how not loud it is outside of the car, especially with all the windows up..

i've definitely seen that car before.......can't remember where though. Decent looking install, try to clean up that wiring to the amps though and it'll look good.

Definatley going to clean up the wiring. from behind the seat, im builing a trim panel that will cover alot of the wiring that you see, and from the trunk, there is another plexiglass panel that is getting put in front of the amps...
