Alocohol questions?

I have a question that a friend of mine was wondering, and have not been able to find it on the Georgia state law website. Apparently (at least according to this friend) it is legal to possess alcohol when you are 18 years old. This seems interesting and I am rather confused since I can't find it anywhere. Also of interest, is it legal for anyone other than a 21+ year old allowed to be in a liquor store (not buying anything, just being in there). Thanks for the help.

anyone can go into a liquor store and purchase something non alcoholic - i have run there many times for ice or soda previously, they don't care about that. as far as georgia being 18 to posses, i'm pretty sure that's not true, as georgia gets federal money for highways, and if it was 18 to possess, as it is in louisiana, they wouldn't be getting federal highway money

I was stationed in Kings Bay, GA for 14 years. I had to sometimes deal with the underage sailors who got caught drinking. The way the law was explained to me was that no one under the age of 21 was allowed to purchase, possess or consume any alcoholic beverage. As far as being in a liquor store I don't know. I never saw a store in GA that only sold liquor. Are there any?

Here in PA you only have to be 18 to be a bartender.

I had a friend, when I was living in GA, that got picked up for minor possession (amongst other things) when he was 20. His parents bailed him out and the police gave them the six pack.

i werk at a liquor store, and we have a policy that if you are under 21 you are not allowed in the store unless accompanied by a parent. This is only a store policy though, another store owned by the same people on the other side of town does not have this policy (they sell a LOT more stuff that isn't related to alcohol).
