On 12 November, Rosetta’s Philae probe is set to make the first-ever landing on a comet when it touches down on Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko.

Separation of the lander is planned for about 09:03 GMT (10:03 CET), and touch down should follow about seven hours later, at 16:02 GMT (17:02 CET).

The whole mission is totally nuts (in a positive way). A 10 year journey through the solar system to catch and land on a 4km comet. And it succeeded. It shows that mankind can accomplish even the wildest of dreams

Amazing. I watched the live feed. They might have to try the anchors again though. Kind of a big deal. I get the feeling they aren't out of the woods, but went ahead and celebrated the landing, since that by itself is incredible. Landing on a comet? Holy shit.

Also, if they didn't include a camera on that thing...

Saw that but they just said they're not anchored and it may drift off.
They're attempting to refire the anchors to ensure it remains attached.

They contacted the comet. They didn't pull it off until the anchors work. They might lose the mission still.
