Isn't that because of the other thread he had... advice from a lawyer not to fight it because he's lucky the officer didn't charge him with some sort of felony and the officer still could, with permission from the DA, get those charges filed?

I wouldn't doubt that Michigan is much like Indiana, where if the cop has a legitimate reason for not being able to be there, they can get a continuance.

That's a moot point though, because no cop would be stupid enough to fall for what you're suggesting.

I love how everyone here says that 110 is not unusual to ask from a modern sedan, but when I asked about air turbulence on a Mustang with windows dow for speeds over 100, all of ATOT's Enchanted Know IT ALL l33t Haxxor Car Specialists, Experts, Mechanics and Wizzards came around to call BS on those speeds. None of you have aftermarket modified cars, none of you respect people who try to speed "responsibly" (if there is such a thing)... such as open freeways in the middle of the night, and just because you are all about the "A to B and hell with everything else," I hope you suffocate in your gas guzzling SUV's, die in the crumple boxes that are your geo metros, die of boredom in you camry's, or just waste away wishing that you had taken a chance once in a while when you were younger when you have to start Lyndsay Lahoan threads you're so c0ckblocked at home.

99.9% of you are each perfect drivers who have never been in accients, do the perfect speedlimit on backroads when you could have the same speed on the overcongested, paralell freeway not even a quarter mile over and probably cant even keep your freakin ford explorers on your side of the yellow line, even when you ARE doing the speedlimt. I was thinking the same thing. I hope the judge didn't decide to give him 10 days.

I was in court once for an accident. One of the guys before be on the docket was doing 50 in 25. The case didn't go his way, and he got a little smart with the judge. The judge tossed him in jail for I think 2 days, it may have been longer.

Hopefully the OP didn't get upset or something and piss off the judge.

At first when I got to the thread I thought I've done 100 in a 60... Then I realized this was in MPH!

In my experience, at 110MPH (180 KPH), vehicles feel like at the slightest turn of the wheel or a gust of wind will throw the vehicle off the road. It is just not a safe speed unless you are driving a car that is designed to handle speeds beyond that.

I've tried flooring 2 vehicles in my life. Once was in a Jeep Grand Cherokee, I hit 182 and decided it was too scary and dangerous to go any faster. The 2nd time was in a Saturn (something or other), I hit 170 and the car felt like it was being ripped apart. Both times I was stupid for driving that fast because if anyone had been comming the other way, I don't think I was in control to prevent an accident if something happened.

But when it comes to going 110, if he did have an accident, more than likely he would have taken out somebody else or a family with him.
