Ive heard Event Horizon is definetly a great movie. Exorcist we've both scene. Amityville Horror isn't really that scary either, plus way to old. Final Destination is not scary at all, cool movie though. Stir of Echoes though, that might be a really good one. I think I saw that a long time ago as a kid, is that the one with the dude that hangs onto the bottom of the car while its moving to follow the people?

Why don't you give us an example of a movie you DO think is scary? It would be a hell of a lot easier to give you recommendations if we knew your tastes. Otherwise this is pointless and you'll just come back saying "STFU!" like the cool guy you are.

I don't see why people make such a big deal out of The Ring. I'm an easily scareable person and I almost fell asleep during it.

As mentioned above Stir of Echoes is a surprisingly good and scary movie. You wouldnt think a Kevin Bacon flick would be worth much, but give it a try. When you dont expect much, you get a whole lot more enjoyment out of something when it works well, like this movie did for me.

For me ringu (not the remake) was moderately scary, certainly more so than any of the other domestic films mentioned. Nakata (director of dark water) has an awesome eye for space and knows exactly how to meter out horror for maximum effect (eg: using an out of focus background element as a subject). In contrast, films like friday the 13th rely much more on volume and gore, which is something that one easily becomes desensitized to.

Yes. As a sci-fi movie, it's just ok, but as a horror flick, it's pretty darn good.

Dude, whatever...I started cracking up when that guy was outside the spaceship and was about to explode! That movie was f'ing hilarious! When Sam Neill rips his eyes out...hahaha! Hands down, one of the funniest movies I've ever seen! I laughed throughout the whole thing! :beer::beer:

I've only gotten scared from one movie I've ever seen and that was Halloween something when I was a little kid. Other than that I've never seen a scary movie that made me scared. Not even The Ring was scary.
