Holy moly.

I've got to say, as a life long Saints fan, that I understand and sympathize with our cheesy friends.

Number 7 will never happen, so it's the end of the road for the Packers.

A better question is whether or not Favre will be playing for the Packers next season.

Well at least we still have a chance! 8-8 is great!

I will be satisfied with No. 9.

Favre is back for two more years. You heard it here first.

I was thinking the same thing. Everything else on the list is very possible. But hey, with the stuff that happens in sports, arizona could pull an upset.

Given the craziness of this season, I wouldn't say any of these are impossible (especially when some of these teams have their play-off positions already tied up).

Even though I am a long-time Packer backer, I think there should be a rule requiring a team to have at least a winning record (i.e. at least 9 wins) in order to get into the play-offs. It's sad to see the NFC so weak that an 8-8 team will get inot the play-offs.

Favre is still a better quarterback than many around the league (e.g. Rex Grossman) and could probably play for another couple of years. It's just too bad that the Packers are htting bottom at the end of his career; he deserves better.

At least I'll be able to watch my Packers tomorrow night. NBC has pushed the game to prime time.

EDIT: found em on wiki, holy crap the charges got some good use out of those picks lol. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manning_Rivers_Trade#The_specifics

Giants received

* Rights to 2004 1st Overall Pick - Used to sign quarterback Eli Manning.

[edit] Chargers received

* Rights to 2004 4th Overall Pick - Used to sign quarterback Philip Rivers.
* 2005 1st Round Draft Pick - Used to draft and sign linebacker Shawne Merriman.
* 2004 3rd Round Draft Pick - Used to draft and sign kicker Nate Kaeding.
* 2005 3rd Round Draft Pick - Traded to Tampa Bay Buccaneers for left tackle Roman Oben.

[edit] Additional notes

* Philip Rivers, Nate Kaeding and Shawne Merriman have all made the 2007 Pro Bowl
* Nate Kaeding, over three years from 2004 to 2006, has a higher field goal percentage than Giants kicker Jay Feely[4][5]
* Rivers has a higher career QB Rating than Manning[6][7]

While the Giants certainly gave up much too much to get Eli, I still think he'll be a good QB with decent coaching. Giants QB coaching sucks, as does much of their coaching overall. Also, I think Rivers would suck on the Giants right now and I think Eli would be a pro-bowler on SD. Any decent QB will look awesome on the Chargers. If an opposing defense is not playing the run on every down they are not watching LT this year. He opens up the passing game ridiculously. Don't get me wrong, Rivers may be good, but he's not as good as he looks.

You may be right. SF is hot as of late and Denver is no. I'm DEFINITELY looking forward to this final weekend.

People say #7 will never happen but is San Diego still playing for anything at this point? Not sure if they have home field wrapped up now or not...

If I were LT, I would want to leave my single season TD record set high.

I doubt LT is making the decision on playing time though If the team has nothing to play for at this point and LT tears his ACL in the game I'm sure some Chargers fans will be unhappy.

The future world champions are actually playing for home field during the playoffs.
