Alright rumor millers... tell me what you've heard

I've been pondering the upgrade to a 30" LCD monitor for awhile. The only one I've really researched is the 30" Apple Cinema HD display. I really want one of these beasts, 'cause I'm pretty sure my PC will drive it fairly well (and if it won't I can always upgrade when Nvidia's newest offerings come out). I've been holding out for Dell to make a 30" LCD panel based off the same one Apple uses, unfortunately it looks like I might be waiting till the cows come home.

"Why not just buy an Apple Cinema HD Display, Boze?" y'all might say? "Because I hate Apple," I would reply. I really hate Apple. I hate Apple because they put some shiny plastic or metal over <insert case, monitor, gadget here> and then expect the average consumer to pay twice what its worth because it "looks good". And because almost everyone I've met who uses or has an Apple anything doesn't know the first damn thing about hardware... and is generally annoying to me - I guess that's just the PC nerd snob in me.

So, long story short... has anyone heard anything at all about Dell (or another manufacturer, Samsung, Sony, ViewSonic) planning to make/release a 30" LCD monitor? I want to avoid Apple like the plague, if I can...

No reason to hate apple except they tend to overcharge on the products. If I were you which I am not go for a chinese brand HDLCD which uses a screen manufactured by samsung, LG or some other top 5 manufacturer with DMI inputs.

For instance Hisense uses screens made by LG, go for a 28-32 inch HDLCD with 8-12 ms response time and good contrast ratio unless you dig the super scren resolutions.

I dig the super screen resolutions. I also hate Apple because Steve Jobs is a tool in person, but I generally don't condemn an entire company because their figurehead is a jackass.

I've read on a couple of fw threads about a 30" dell lcd coming in December but they had no basis on this... nor do I.

DID you even read the thread?

He wants a high resolution 30" lcd. No one else makes one that has the same resolution. Well you have the crazy IBM one that ist he 22" or 23" but the ms on that is poor.

Good luck on the Dell 30". That would be SWEET.

The Apple is a BEAST but the lack of controls bothers me as I like my own settings without having to do it through the OS.
