ALWAYS BLUE SCREENS OF DEATH!

My compaq laptop remains unfixed. I get a lot of blue screens of death. I can't read it fast enough to tell you the error. I happens so random, but usually near start up. It can be on welcome screen, login screen, during the proccess of logging in or normal usage. Format didn't exactly help. The compaq did not come with discs, only the "restore point" method was available. I do not want to pay $30 for the discs to recover. What can I do?

For starters, try running Memtest86. http://www.memtest86.com This can reveal faults in your RAM or memory controllers.

No offense, mechBgon but Memtest86 does not seem to run correctly on newer computers falsely reporting thousands of errors while there are none in actuality. I would like to suggest Memtest86+ which seems to be actively developed and has the best known compatibility. Its available at: http://www.memtest.org/
