You're a huge asshole and you are a terrible driver no doubt. I fuckin hate people like you, especially when I'm riding my motorcycle and 90 % of riding a motorcycle is being totally aware of your surroundings and predictions of what people in front of you are going to do.

Be proper fool.

I've ridden motorcycles my whole life, my mom is active with ABATE of OK and publishes their Biker Journal. You don't have to convince me the dangers of highway motorcycle riding. I assure you I am not one of the oblivious drivers that cause riders so many wrecks and lives. If someone is there, I know it, and I indicate.

To the people talking about blind spots, most cars can move their side mirrors to (mostly) eliminate them

Press head against drivers side glass
Adjust driver side mirror to only show the edge of your vehicle
Place head right in center of car
Adjust passenger side mirror the same way

Now go on a 3 lane highway, sit in the middle going a couple mph slower than most people. You should see them appear in your side mirrors right before they leave your rearview. Then they will pop up in your peripheral right before they leave your side mirrors. You should still always glance over to be sure, but I've done this for a year and haven't seen anyone in my "blind spot" that I didn't know was there

Anyone too lazy to use their blinkers is a total jerk. Sorry, but they are made for a reason and they arent that hard to use

You're missing the point. It's not that I'm lazy, I just can't think of any reason to in those situations. People are saying "because they need to be aware of what you're doingm even 300 yards away"

WHY do they need to know that? Why does the dude in the minivan hundreds of yards back, that I probably passed a few minutes ago, need to know that I'm 10 feet farther to the left? I haven't heard any good reason. All I've heard is "because he needs to know!"

I guess my question would be why NOT use them?

the effort is takes to flick your pinky and follow the law is insignificant.

Your not using it for that guy in the minivan. You are using it for the guy speeding in the left lane that you don't see.

On a motorcycle, with 1 light out...

If you're thinking about using your blinker, you're doing it wrong.

As a motorcyclist you should be ashamed for this thread, this post, and your mentality.

Just because you "know" someone is not there does NOT mean it's the case. No offense, but I don't care to trust my life to people that "know" I'm not there.

All it takes is one time of not "knowing" and you've killed someone. Seriously. Use your blinkers.

Sheesh, are you trying to not read my posts? I have said that even though I don't always use my blinker, I still always look. There is no guy there speeding in the left lane I don't know about, cause I've already looked. He isn't there. I'm not assuming noones there, I know no ones there. I've looked. I've looked. I've looked

And there's also a good chance you've overlooked. Use the fuckin' blinkers. The effort is as close to 0 as you can get while still using muscles, and takes less thought than making inane ATOT posts.

is following the law like some major hardship for you or something?

even if I'm on an empty road in the middle of nowhere, I figure using my blinker properly requires less effort than dealing with a ticket from a bored cop with a quota to meet hiding out in a speed trap.

I don't use my blinkers if nobody's there, fuck you if you don't like it. You're not there to know so why would it bother you? Also, if I'm in a right/left turn only lane no blinker... no need. If I'm flying through traffic(I'm typically going about 10 over, most people around here are ok going 5 under) sometimes I wont use my blinkers either just because that would be less safe than having 2 hands firmly on the steering wheel.

opposing traffic doesn't know that you're in a right/left turn only lane.

pisses me off when I'm waiting to make a turn and yielding to on-coming traffic, but the on-coming traffic is turning without using their turn signals so I just wasted my time waiting on you for no reason.

also, you're probably doing something wrong is using your turn signal requires taking a hand off the wheel.

Don't worry, the nannies in this post that have developed robotic driving habits SUCK AT DRIVING.

They are the same people who stay in the left lane (Left lane is for PASSING ONLY), and the same people who I have to pass left and right constantly (and you wonder WHY I don't use the signal? Because I'm going to pass your slow ass, you either pull right or STFU and if I'm doing this every few seconds, you can IMAGINE why I will not do it depending on the situation because it makes no resulting difference).

This is right, if you're turning and it involves giving useful information to vehicles around you, you should do it, regardless of what lane you are in.

You really are a fucking tard, aren't you? You complain about people not following rules by parking in the left lane, but you have 0 problem not following rules with the blinker. Typical New York road scum.... :^S

Rules are not created equal. Nor are drivers apparently.

I believe you man, but it still doesn't change the fact that you should use your signals, always, period. It's good etiquette and it should be a part of your reflex. When I'm blasting down the highway passing cars, I use it, no matter what. Night time, no one in sight, I use it. You never know when a random situation will arise, and maybe when it does, there will be a small percent chance that the blinker is useful.

Again dude, driving is all about prediction and making as many people around you aware of your intentions.

I'm not trying to talk you down or anything, but you really should use it, all the time, no excuses.

Shit happens. People make mistakes. That's why we call them car accidents. If you think your immune to that you're wrong. If you have a tool that could clearly prevent an accident if this situation does occur and takes minimal effort why the hell not?

Anyway I commute to school every day and see people like you all the time. They're usually young and think they are invincible. They weave in and out of traffic without a blinker thinking they're getting somewhere fast. 90% of the time I notice myself getting to the same place in the same or less time as them.

Holy shit man. You are NOT a miraculous driver somehow better then everyone else. Get over it.

Sadly, I'm gonna reference Oprah for this one. She did a show on texting while driving. She put several drivers through several tests while texting. The three drivers thought they were somehow better then the people getting plastered to the concrete dividers. One said something like he had "mastered texting while driving." In the end they all failed miserably.

In fact I can prove you're a bad driver. You don't always use your blinker.
