I didn't go to mine and have no regrets.

But I'm also asian and none of the asians that I know of at my school went.

Im probably the most popular person in my school, which out of around 100 isnt that impressive and still didnt go. I even had several girls begging me to go this year, but decided to go to a Sci-Fi convention instead. Next year will most likely be the same result, I dont do prom kind of stuff, especially if i dont have a date like the past 3 years, not that if i did it would change my decision not to go, so im sure for my senior prom i will spend the night at next years Sci-Fi convention instead.

Never went. I could have had a date. I just didn't feel the prom was a good reason to spend a ridiculous amount of money, dress up in highly uncomfortable clothes, and listen to crappy music while I shuffle around a nasty floor.

Either your high school is populated solely by sci-fi nerds, or your imagination is quite impressive.

Nerds yes, but there are only like 3 or 4 of us that are big Sci-Fi fans. And i have no imagination, just alot of good personality and a good sense of humor.

no. after you start college, you're not even going to think about high school.

and when you graduate college, I doubt you'll even remember it.

A month ago, I didn't care if I didn't go to prom. But lately everyone has been telling me that I will regret it if I do not go. I'm starting to feel a bit depressed that I might miss out on something fun. I haven't had any good memories in high school at all, and not going to prom seems to be the perfect way to cap off my sh!tty high school experience.

So, at the moment I'm very conflicted. One moment I feel that I don't care about some stupid dance considering how crappy my high school years have been. But other times I feel very depressed that I might be able to connect to my school for one last time, but I still can't go.

Am I going to regret not going to prom?

If there are people at school you care about, have fun with, whatever - then maybe you should go. If your over-all experience of school was sh1t, then it probably doesn't make much sense wasting money on the prom. Unless you want to play a "joke" on some people you dislike (joke, as in bucket of blood toppling from the rafters etc.)

I chose not to go to my "prom" and never regretted it. And I've never had to see any of those high school morons/ a$$holes again, anyway.

Alotta haters here, lol.
Not gonna even comment on the fact that they say it sucks or whatever. I feel bad for the kids i saw at my prom last month that we're just sitting there, with that look on their face where they wished someone had a 12-guage so they could /themselves. Personally, i was so opposed to the idea of prom, and i turned down quite a few girls, not to brag, just i was really opposed to going. Then my friend came over, and we talked for a while, and i figured that i didn't have anything to lose.

I didn't want to regret it and wonder how much fun it could have been. I went, and had the best time of my life. But i guess i'm not the anti-social like it seems quite a few people on here are. I guess i float around with different groups -->stoners, preps, emo, g-units lol, hicks, and bunners and whatnot. It's not a matter of being cool or fitting in. It's all about being together with your buddies and having a blast. We had a lotta 1/5s and other mixes so by the time dinner got around it was getting kinda rowdy. Limo driver had to help me into the restaurant and i couldn't pick my head up off the table, lol. Made myself throw up 9 times to get all that vodka outta me. I looked like i got hit by a train. But when i got to the dance it was amazing. They played hella techno music, and i was just flying everywhere. Everyone was having an awesome time, and then we got pics, and just shot the breeze for a while. Hell i thought it was fun.

Then the limo took us up top of the city and we chilled and then he took us to the party and we partied till 5 the next morning. Threw a mad hicktown party, lol.

I'm sure y'all will think i'm an idiot, but i didn't regret it at all, and you'll always make more money, but personally, i'd rather have a great memory than a little money.

At least give it a shot. If you hate it, just become a hermit, and never go outside ever again.

I didn't go either, and i was in the same situation as you back in high school. That's just the way life goes. Nothing is ever fair. Yes, you will miss pron but you will find something else intereseting to do.

Here was my reasoning, if I go and don't enjoy myself, then I'll at least know that I didn't enjoy myself. If I don't go at all, I'll always wonder whether or not I would enjoy myself.

My point: Go. Go with some friends or go alone, there are bound to be single chicks there.

I went my senior year of high school (two years ago now)...it was alright, but in retrospect probably not really worth all the money. Not that I necessarily would have had anything better to do, but if you don't want to go, don't feel like you have to go just because others are pressuring you into it.

Didn't go. Girlfriend and I went out on our own date, saved a ton of money, had a bunch more fun than we would have at prom and made our own memories.

Prom is the last hurrah for losers who are going to spend the rest of their lives reliving their glory days in high school. After high school they become shoe salesmen and it's all downhill from there.

I never went to prom, or any other dances in HS for that matter. Don't regret it at all, spend those nights working earning money. Since the MCDs where I worked employed a lot of HS students, the people who did work prom night got time and a half pay.

Its not that great. Just download porn and jerk off, it'll save you the bad and awkward handjob in the back of a car that we allllll remember so well on the way to the after-party.

Its so expensive to get the apolstry in your car cleaned.
