Am I a loser for not going to prom?

My school's prom comes up next month. I am not planning on going. My parents won't give me the money to buy the tickets, rent a tux, and cover other expenses. I also don't think I'll be able to get a date.

A month ago, I didn't care if I didn't go to prom. But lately everyone has been telling me that I will regret it if I do not go. I'm starting to feel a bit depressed that I might miss out on something fun. I haven't had any good memories in high school at all, and not going to prom seems to be the perfect way to cap off my sh!tty high school experience.

So, at the moment I'm very conflicted. One moment I feel that I don't care about some stupid dance considering how crappy my high school years have been. But other times I feel very depressed that I might be able to connect to my school for one last time, but I still can't go.

Am I going to regret not going to prom?
