Am I a wierdo for listening jpop while not knowing any japanese?

I am a Chinese, living in America, listening to Jpop.

If you are listening to vocal songs, do you care if you understand the lyrics?

I'm korean and I dont understand japanese.
I just like the music.

you can usually find the translations in english on the web

I do the same. I'm Korean and listen to K-Pop even though I can barely understand any of it, and J-Pop even though I can't understand any of it.

As long as the songs catchy I'm good. Good looking girls help also of course.

hehe, I do the same thing (I'm Chinese too)...hell, sometimes it's cpop and I don't know the words (canto or something...I find it hard to discern lyrics in Chinese, but I think it's just a weird mental roadblock).

The music's good, it's usually different than US music, just that cpop/jpop feel...don't know how to explain.

Many people who listen to Opera (mostlly sung in Italian, French, German)

do not know those languages



And many people who live in other countries besides English speaking ones listen to popular music from
US and UK without knowing English

I dont see anything wrong with it. If you enjoy the music, why does it matter what language the lyrics are in. Im an american that only knows english (unless you count a few hundred words of spanish) and I think there are at least 20 different languages in my CD collection. (english, spanish, norweigen, swedish, itialian, swedish, german, japaneese ... and a few others)
